As current bed and breakfast owners, we consider ourselves to be discerning guests. We traveled to the Great Sand Dunes area without reservations and decided to take "pot luck". We stumbled upon The Coll House online while driving - and called to make a reservation for that night. We arrived to find a lovely house almost - but not quite in the middle of nowhere in the quirky "town" of Crestone, Colorado! We were welcomed by the delightful innkeeper Marcia and her "grand pup" Tonka (yes they are pet friendly). Marcia was very knowledgeable about the area and we felt very at home - in fact so "at home" that we decided to stay a second night. Breakfast was excellent, Marcia offers three levels of breakfast - in room, continental and full breakfast - I recommend the full breakfast experience. The place was clean, well equipped and welcoming and Marcia is simply wonderful. The Coll House exceeded all our expectations and next time we are in that neck of the woods - it's the only place we will stay!
What a wonderful place-Crestone is and Coll House is the perfect place to stay.
The location is beautiful and serene. Marcia is an attentive and very helpful host. Our room was comfy and breakfast delicious.
BB King and Joey Tribiani our small dogs, felt very welcome indeed.
Marcia is an intelligent & welcoming hostess, plus, our room was very comfortable, and place was surrounded with beautiful views. Breakfast was delicious (eggs, muffins, fruit, optional meat). Night stars, safe neighborhood, beautiful and remote.
My wife and I stayed here visiting my Dad in the Baca. Exceeded all expectations with a charming atmosphere , when the snow is falling you feel as if your living a story book tale. The owner is one of the friendliest , most caring ladies I've ever met.
I had such a cozy stay at Coll House.I felt like I was at home. The rooms were clean and accommodating, the bathroom had a shower and a separate soaking tub with candles and essential oils. Marsha was an amazing hostess. Our breakfast was 5 star and I plan on coming back.
From the second we walked in the door it felt like walking into your family's house. Marcia is so warm, welcoming and interesting. It made our stay in Crestone so nice. The room we had is very comfortable and the bathroom is awesome with a big tub, seperate shower, and enough room to host a small dance party. Ghiradelli chocolates and some nice oils for the bath make for a nice touch.
Beautiful view and great accommodations. Our room was very clean and our host went out of her way to make us comfortable. We had 5 in our party and even with an extra bed in the room, it was roomy. We decided not to get the breakfast but it smelled so good. Would definitely stay again!
