Antique furnishings in a historic building with private baths newly installed and personal climate control. Comfortable bed. The staff very warm and friendly. We got a free breakfast that was anything off the menu and were greeted just as genuinely at that cafe.
Parking was easy and close. I can imagine during the summer there may be some noise outside, but during the winter everyone was shuttling between buildings as fast as they could, so it was super quiet.
No complaints! We'll be back again.

Rooms are not large, this is characteristic of buildings from this time period, this does not bother myself or my fiance. When we go to the casino we're not planning on spending time in our rooms other than to snuggle down for a good night's sleep and wake up to a sound breakfast to shake off the mild hangover. If a small room puts you off this may not be the place for you.

I must say, it if wasn't for a super friendly and hard working housekeeper I would have given this hotel a major thumbs down. We stayed here this past weekend, but sadly we were given the smallest room. It was like staying in a closet with a toddler size bed and decor that looked like it had been given all the left over pieces parts from the other rooms!! However, the gal we ran into kindly showed us some of the other rooms. They were all fantastic!! The decor, the comfort, the bed sizes, even the bathrooms were all really amazing!! My best piece of advice, if you stay here, do NOT under any circumstances let them put you in room 45!!!! And, word of advice to the owner, Big Jim, if you want to attract more guests to your property, why in the world would you ever put anyone in that room?! If it wasn't for your staff member showing us those other rooms I would have trashed your property thinking that was all there was!

Room Tip: The best room to be had is 43, the worse is 45 but from what we say, all the rooms but 45 were gorgeous!

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Imperial Hotel this last weekend. What a treat! Before we even went to our room, we spent a great deal of time just walking around enjoying the atmosphere. This hotel has been renovated and no expense was spared. The ceramic tile work in the restrooms downstairs and in the bathrooms upstairs is so beautifully done. The woodwork is amazing. The owners, Gary and Wini Ledford, went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. I was impressed when Mr. Ledford asked for suggestions for improvements they could make. In my opinion, there were none!
Our room was cozy and very attractive. Definitely not a chain motel room!!!!! The bed was beautiful with a pillowtop mattress and a pillowtop mattress cover. Their was a wonderful, quiet ceiling fan/light with a remote control for easy adjustments. The towels were so soft and fluffy and the amenities were good quality and plentiful. One suggestion: if you are a light sleeper, you might want to bring earplugs. Being in the mountains, the nights are cool and the windows are open (no air conditioning). You will hear the outdoor noises of people having a good time or just walking down the street. That is to be expected and didn't bother us.
We ate dinner in the Midland Depot restaurant in the hotel. It was so yummy and the wait staff was efficient and very pleasant. Mr. Ledford stopped by our table to make sure we were pleased with our meal.
We also enjoyed the Gold Bar Theatre in the basement. You can just feel the history all around you as you enjoy the show. It is a small, intimate theatre with small tables and mismatched chairs. Very cabaret-like!
And to top it all off, free breakfast in the Rockin' J Cafe. I recommend The Hangover, but you had better be very hungry! It has a little of everything in it and lots of it! Such a great getaway for us!!!! Oh yeah, it is linked with Big Jim's Casino, too!

I recently spent a night at the Imperial, and I must say that it brought back many precious memories. Although the excitement of brunch at the restaurant and melodrama at the Gold Bar Theatre are gone, Gary has preserved a semblance of the "old days."

Our room was comfortable and clean, and we appreciated the privacy of our own bathroom. The employees were courtious and helpful. We appreciated and enjoyed the free breakfast at the Rockin' J's cafe the next morning. It was altogether a great night's stay.

Room Tip: Consider Room 43 for a "special" night!!!!

The experience at the Imperial Hotel is like no other. Not often found in small areas such as this are the conveniences of a bigger city. The hotel itself is a history lesson. The Midland Depot Restaurant has an ambience all its own. The theater downstairs puts on original shows that incorporate both local talent and out of town entertainers. The latest have hailed from Missouri, Las Vegas, and California! The casino is also just a short catwalk away. It's simply amazing how your stay here can accomodate a mini vacation and do it with style and finesse. The hotel owners are the best in hospitality and take their position in this industry with due consideration. No where else will you find all the conveniences located in one place! The rooms are exceptional, dinner is grand, and the shows extraordinary! A place to come back to time and again without hesitation. This place IS class.
