We go every year about the third week in August when the MIA POW Veterans Memorial Rally takes place. Parade, bikers ride into town, flyovers, speeches, awards, former POWs speak, huge weekend. Camping near town, gambling, restaurants, history. Cripple Creek has it all! And don't miss the Mollie Kathleen mine tour just outside of town.

SUCH a cute town! It's pretty much all casino's, but there is plenty to see, lots of great photo ops and just GORGEOUS! We went in the fall, and the leaves changing everyone was incredible. We stopped and had lunch at a casino, walked around, took lots of pics, it was great! It's 2 miles above sea level, so bring lots of water with you!

It's a nice drive from Colorado Springs. At this time of the year, we got to see all those aspens changing color ... beautiful golds and yellows. Just gorgeous. Too, this time the weather was nice. It was cool but not freezing cold. Snow hasn't fallen yet so the roads are clear.

It's a good place to visit, especially if you're somewhat in the vicinity and you like to try different casinos other than those in Vegas.

It's a quaint little town with several different casinos. The people are very friendly and sometimes you can hit something good on the machines. For me, whenever I win something, I usually put it back into the casino. It's just a fun thing to do within a budget. I guess there are other things to see (gold mine, jailhouse, etc.) but I was never inclined to go do those things.

We went to check out Cripple Creek on the 4th of July thinking we'd find something fun to do in a small town. WRONG.
The drive out was beautiful but once you're there it's all casinos. A small park and the welcome center was okay, but that's it.
It was a big let down for us, definitely should've done more research before going.

It was fun to visit this Old West Gold Mining Town which is now a CASINO town. Quaint main street with casinos. Quaint street car free shuttle. Fun to see this place.
