In July of 2008, I stayed at the Hotel St. Nicholas. It is a very quaint bed and breakfast type hotel. It is located a few blocks from Main Street in Cripple Creek.
Although, they don't have air conditioning, it was very comfortable. With the high altitude, the room was always nice and cool. The rooms have ceiling fans, that work just fine. The people who work at the hotel are very nice. They offer a free continental breakfast in their dining room.
They have a study with a pool table. Also, there is a cute bar that serves drinks and limited food.
If I am ever in the area, I would stay there again.
