“Great Room, Poor Halls.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 November 2013

Lobby wasn't particularly inviting, more of an industrial vibe that I'd like. Too bad, they had plenty of space. Biggest gripe is the hallways. First, the automatic door closers are set way too tight and slam the doors. so 1) you have to hurry to get in if you have luggage, and 2) your night will be filled with the slamming doors of people who forget or ignore this fact. Second, staff doesn't seem in a hurry to bus their room service discarded plates, letting plates sit around most of the day.

Breakfast. I'll admit my wife and I are typically on the later side of breakfast, but hot food had been sitting out awhile and seemingly wasn't replaced when gone after about 8:30 AM. Starbucks coffee served all day, but only free at breakfast. Couldn't see spending much time in the coffee/bar area, again, the whole lobby vibe didn't make me want to stay.

Room itself: Very nice. Big windows, nice view. Spacious. Wonder if the review about no dresser was specific to the room, as dresser was quite nice (although the wood is rather soft so I'll be curious if they stay that way with time).

Also worth noting on room amenities.. yes to fridge, no to microwave. Found it odd to have one but not the other.

Room Tip: Should go without saying, but west-facing rooms have a nice view of the mountains.

Before choosing this hotel I read the reviews and saw a few negative things about the hotel rooms being to loud or they didn’t like the food. I’m a self admitted snob and used to Ritz Carlton type hotels but chose this due to the area and the price and from the websites the rooms looked nice. After staying 3 nights here I have to say I love this hotel! Hotel is nice; the room is comfortable and clean. I paid less than $100 per night and it has FREE parking, FREE breakfast and FREE Internet. The staff was so friendly and made me feel welcome. The breakfast was good enough…it may not be fresh from the stove eggs so if you want that then go pay for it down the street at a restaurant BUT I think it was perfectly acceptable. Additionally, the room had perfect black out curtains and I was able to sleep well. Great hotel, great price and nice staff! I highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Good room...great price...will stay here again!

The hotel is located in a good neighborhood, close to downtown, the zoo, mall and other interesting places. Just recently renovated, the hotel show a new facelift. However, despite the new look, the hotel lack some character, feel almost empty, like a sculpture, nice but lifeless.
Checking in smooth as usual with Hyatt, front desk helpful but little distant.
The hotel is a glass sleek building, sided by another glass high rise office tower. Main entrance to the hotel is plain, only two trash containers catch the eye, some plants will provide better look.
Disappointment came from the breakfast and room. Plain, dead scrambled eggs were the "main" stock every morning, sided by sausage, some sort of cheese burger (melted cheese over bread) some fruit, juices, etc. They already cook the waffles, and cut them in quarters (no whole fresh waffles) Is clear that they need somebody with real talent as cook, I can prepare better eggs myself.
The rooms lack traditional shades, instead they used a sort of mesh, letting light come on day and night time, so bring some dark shades to sleep better, the bed was comfortable.
The room also lack a dresser, so you have to hang in the closet your underwear, or placed "anywhere". Everything work properly, the place was quiet, elevator move fine, and the parking lot is free. The business section has three computers and copier. No swimming pool.
I don't like the abstract prints on the walls, I think that they missed the opportunity to hang nice prints of Colorado, that will some flavor.
For the money, I will pick another place in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for room facing West, one with dark shades and for a better cook on the kitchen.

This is our first and last visit to this hotel. We often stayed here when it was a Loews property and thoroughly it. The remodel is cold and uninviting, no bellman and the rooms are sterile with bad fluorescent lighting. We booked through Expedia and understood this was a pet friendly hotel. Unfortunately, we did not read the fine print.....a $75 non refundable pet fee! This puts our room tonight at $225+ . The Monaco, the Westin, Four Seasons and many other hotels in Denver would have offered a much more enjoyable and luxurious stay without an exorbitant pet fee. Good luck to Hyatt with this venture but you will not see us here again. And for the $75 extra, they did not even bring a pet bed, bowls, treats or potty bags to keep their property clean. We brought our own. If you do not want pets, simply state it instead of levying ridiculous fees that mask as a cleaning charge. Total rip off.

I'm not picky about hotels, but I agree with other reviews regarding extremely noisy. Doors slam shut and wake you up all night. I could hear people next to me like they were in the room. It's ok in that it is new, but the lighting is so sterile. Fluorescent lighting is such a turn off. The whole hotel is lit by bright, cold non welcoming light. Does not set a cozy, warm mood. Short staffed. People associate the Hyatt name with service, there is no real service here. Not even room service. You'll be lucky to find someone at the front desk. You'll be schlepping your own luggage back and forth, etc. Trendy to the max, not like the older but classy hotel it replaced. I've logged upwards of 45 days at this hotel on business trips, 40 of those when it was Loew's. Take it from someone who has seen both sides of this coin, it was better as Loew's and this change the DiNapoli group brought by turning it into a motel is not an improvement.

This property was recently updated and looks amazing...however...the cost cutting for the renovations are obvious. I have never stayed in a room that I could hear every sound above, below and beside me. If you are there for pleasure, seek another hotel, as you will not get ANY sleep!

Since the Hyatt takeover of the hotel and its renovations, I have many mixed reviews, so here is the breakdown.
Pros: rooms are amzing and hard to beat anywhere - brand new, flat screens, new linens, large rooms, kings plus large sofa, desk space, refrigerator, decent size bathroom, great shower, great neighborhood, close to numerous food and shopping (all walkable), 2mins from highways.
Cons: lobby looks shabby even after renovation (not nearly as nice as the rooms), no healthy options for breakfast - mostly sugary foods, elevators needs a interior overhaul, no room service (for now) but can order in from numerous takeout/delivery options. Bed was slightly firm, but not nearly as hard as other reviewers say.
Basically if you want a very nice room with minimal amenities, this is the place hands down!

Room Tip: Request a high floor - mountain view if possible.
