“Felt unsafe staying here.”
Reviewed 3 July 2011

Property is in severe need of renovation. I booked this on Hotwire - they said it was a two star - it wasn't.

Bed and bed sheets were worn out. Hotel room was in a dark corner of a hallway - limited escape route. Old furniture in the hallway.

I don't know what the rooms are like in the main hotel building. I stayed in the motor lodge portion. A two-story, U-shaped building. Unsavory characters in the parking lot.

Super slow internet.

On the plus side - free parking and just a short walk across the bridge to downtown Denver. Also close to the Pepsi center.

Not what I expected of a Ramada
Our room was in the external section of the hotel in motel style rooms with external walkways, access to the room was up a floor in reception along a dark corridor and out through the car park. The room itself was clean but basic with poor lighting giving a sense of gloom throughout. The air conditioning/heating unit could only pump cold or hot air depending on how the central system was set at reception. If it was hot in the room and the system was set for heating then all you could do was turn the thermostat down and have no air flow at all and of course the same applied for cooling. The hotel also seemed to have a problem with its card keys with failures not being uncommon necessitating the hike back to reception for new cards to be issued which themselves were not always functional.
Outside of the rooms the building was in a poor state of repair (see photos) and the car park itself seemed to be strewn with nails.
The hotel is a 20 to 30 minute walk to downtown but a shuttle service on the hour upto 9pm was available on a first come first booked basis, unfortunately this was not well advertised within the hotel nor was any mention of this made on check in.

incredibly old and gloomy, my friend said he felt like he was in the movie The Shinning because of the old elevator, very hot room and when I asked if they keep the hotel at set temperature they giggled (apparently in embarasment) and said "we can only do air or heat tomorrow might be air."

If you can overlook the asthetics in exchange for value the bed and bathrooms were clean.

Stayed at the hotel for a conference. You can walk to the conference center in about 15-20 mins. My room was OK but there aren't many facilities and there aren't many places to eat nearby, but takeaway menus are available in the lobby. The bar, business center and swimming pool were never open. The fitness center didn't have any weights and was basically a treadmill (which you don't need after walking up the hill from downtown). The rooms also don't have a safe deposit box in them and you can't leave stuff with reception, so you're faced with the choice of carrying around your passport and money with you all the time or leave it in the room. The heating didn't work, although they did provide me with a fan heater. Some reception staff seem a bit overwhelmed/unhelpful. Only plus sides are that the price isn't too bad for the location and there is free wifi.

Could be the worst hotel in Denver. List of things wrong:

-stains on the pillow
-stains on the walls
-stains on the carpet
-stains on the curtains
-strong, strong smell of cigarette smoke
-crawl-space in the bathroom ceiling open
-heater/air doesn't work
-can hear the conversations of people 100 yards away outside...

The list keeps going... Just don't do it. Not worth the headache.

Room Tip: Just don't do it!

Was apprehensive about staying here--realized we had been here a few years before with a bad experience (mouse in room), but this time we stayed in the main building. Chose it for location. This time a nice view. It was 80 degrees when we got to our room. Had to open doors for cooler air. Someone was out on deck with a power saw on a salt block creating some kind of art piece for class. Very noisy and dusty. Used the back stairs which couldn't have been dirtier. First night ok--great view of downtown. The second night was horrible. At 1:45 AM called to complain about loud party next door. Desk clerk said he would call them. Got better for 5 minutes. Called again at 3am. No better. Called again at 3:30 am--wanted to call police. Should have. Finally peace at 5AM!!! Heard scratching sound in room???? Couldn't wait to leave.

I travelled here for business and all the other hotels in the city were sold out due to a conference. Now I know why there was vacancy here. This "motel" was decrepit, dark and outdated. The photos online must have been photoshopped by a magician. Althought the kid in a sweatshirt was very nice at check in, I was shocked when I was told my room was across the parking lot. The physical condition of this hotel were atrocious. The popcorn ceiling above the fron desk was falling down, the lights were not working, the carpet in and around the loby was frayed and faded, and the hallways were barely even lit. My room was the same, the wall paper was peeling, there was gum on the carpet, the tile in the bathroom floor had been replaced but there was no grout in the floor, and the old heat/ac system was louder than a bulldozer. If I had to do it all over again, I would have stayed much further away from downtown and just gotten up earlier to commute into downtown. All in all, I can't beleive this is acutally a "Ramada" hotel. It seemed more like a privately owned roadside motel.
