Not bad, except shower head is at 5'6, I'm 6ft, Bathroom no fan, Light out, Toilet crammed in a little space. Neighbors have zero recognition that anyone else exists in the world. Constant slamming of doors, Stomping around. Be careful of the Soda Machine. Ate 1.25 w/Zero to show for it. Was Charged an extra $20 per night because of Labor Day, even when they had plenty of rooms not occupied. Customer service or loyalty doesn't exist anymore. Damn Shame.

Room Tip: Even staying upstairs you heard every step of your neighbors. I imagine it's even worse downstai...

At first glance, you might think "oh...no" but the Belcaro is a wonderfully affordable, clean and comfortable motel. The front desk staff is friendly and helpful, the beds are comfortable and the decor is delightfully dated in the best way possible. YOU GET AN ACTUAL KEY FOR YOUR ROOM. The hotel is close to the interstate, restaurants and stores. The Belcaro is always my go-to for a night or two in Denver on a budget.

Fortunately we only spent one night here. The motel looks dark, dated and dingy from the outside and follows suit when you enter the room. I'm not too fussy when it comes to decor, but clean and fresh helps. The walls and ceilings were nicotine yellow and the furniture was tatty and past its sell by date. It needed a complete overhaul. It was by far the worst motel we stayed in, and we stayed in 11 different ones during our trip. The walls are paper thin and the floors creak, and we spent a sleepless night listening to our neighbours overhead. It does have all the basic facilities you need, but for the $70 we were charged we expected a basic standard which it lacked.

From the outside this motel looks like a dump but I felt safe and comfortable inside the room. It's a family-owned business with inexpensive rates. I would definitely recommend staying at this motel, especially if you want to save some money.

Got into town late and tried all the hotels by the airport, to find them all booked. My wife found the belcaro on trip advisor, so we thought we would give it a try. At 1 A.M. the staff was very prompt and friendly. This isn't the Ritz, if that's what you are looking for, but it is very nice, and clean. Planning another trip to Denver, and will definitely be staying at the Belcaro.

Was looking for an economical place to stay for 3 nights, and found Belcaro on the Internet.

It's an old-style 2-story motel, with the room doors opening up to the outside directly.

The room could use a slight modernization, but the bathroom could use a complete renovation.

Room came with a bar fridge/freezer, microwave, desk and chair, bed, and a comfortable side chair.

The carpet needed steam cleaning (or replacing), and the chair could have used a steam cleaning too.

The hotel was within a convenient 5 minute walk of Walgreens, Club Sooper (grocery store), and lots and lots of restaurants. Even Staples was just across the street.

The bathroom, it appeared, was original. Two little 1950s-style flourescent light fixtures over the bathroom sink was all that illuminated the bathroom. One of those fixtures was broken, and the other fixture's bulb was very very week. Reported it to the front desk but during the 3 days I was there it wasn't fixed. So it was very dark in the bathroom, except in daylight hours (the bathroom had little 12-inch square windows).

The shower head, it appeared, was installed by somebody who was 4' tall. I'm 6'3" and the shower head was at my mid-chest level. Shower stall was small so it was hard to bend over to get one's head under the shower head.

High speed internet was included (wifi) and was a very good signal.

Room was on the second floor, so you needed to walk up and down a flight of steel stairs. At the very top of one of the flights of stairs, was a bent strip of steel, sticking out of the concrete landing at the top of the stairs. Not a giant issue going up, but when coming down the stairs, you had to be very careful not to trip on this steel strip, because if you did, you would likely fall down the stairs head first. (They needed to hire a welder to come in there and make a repair).

Overall not a bad place for the price. This wasn't the Marriott !

Though not a professional traveler, I usually spend about 30 or more days per year in hotels, and have done so for the past five years. So I can speak with a bit of authority when it comes to accommodations. I've stayed in all kinds, from the five-star showpieces to the smells-like-beer-and-cigarette dumps.
The Belcaro Motel first caught my eye in 2008 while visiting a friend in Denver. It looked like an honest, family-run business, and it had the advantage of not only being around the corner from where my friend lived, but in an excellent location. It sure beat driving all the way out to the hotels near Denver International Airport, which, unfortunately, I dealt with. So, on my next trip to the Mile High City, I reserved a single room at the Belcaro---and have been back on every subsequent visit!
For about $50 per night, each time I've had a room with a king-sized bed, microwave, refrigerator, and a shower with as much pressure as a fireboat monitor. I have always slept VERY comfortably, and am able to economize on meals by shopping at the King Soopers grocery store three blocks away, I will have to agree with some other commentators who said things like "the carpet had splotches on it," or "the motel looks old." That doesn't make a bit of difference to me, but if you're the type of traveler who is only happy by staying at brand-name locations, or feels that high overhead costs ensure a restful night, then save yourself the possibility of disappointment and go down the street to the Holiday Inn Express and pay two or three times as much. But I digress.
If you want to leave your car in the Belcaro's parking lot and use the superb public transportation to see Denver, go ahead. The #40 bus runs north and south along Colorado Blvd, and the #11 bus runs east and west along Mississippi Ave. You can catch the RTD light rail train about a mile away at the Colorado Blvd station, which will take you downtown in no time.
Because Colorado Blvd is a major thoroughfare, all of the typical big box stores are within a short distance. I recommend going to Rubio's Mexican Grill, four blocks north of the Belcaro Morel for some outstanding fish tacos.
I guess I took a very long time to say that I really enjoy staying at this family-owned motel, and I am confident that you and your wallet will, too.
