“Sparse, but close to Stadium”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

We were in Denver to visit Mile High Stadium. The location of the hotel was just perfect. If the weather had been a bit better we probably could have just walked there. That was probably the best thing I can say about the place.

The property itself is definitely showing its age. Our room was clean, but is in need of updating. The bathroom door did not actually close properly. The fitness facility was sparse at best. Also, the carpet in the fitness center did not appear to have been cleaned recently. The internet worked, but not very well. Quite spotty at times. The pool is very small, but our kids did have a good time swimming in it.

Being a loyal Marriott member, I was fine with the place - the price was right and the location was good. If you are no so inclined to stay at Marriotts then there are probably better options in the area.

catlaw98,
Thank you for taking the time to review our hotel. We are happy that you found our location great and that it made your time in Denver convenient to the activities you had planned. We take great pride in keeping our hotel up to date and fresh for our guests. We completed our last renovation in 2012 and this year we have competed several other large projects. Earlier this year we replaced all of our mattresses and just last week we completed the install of a completely new internet system. We also know that it is very important for our guests to maintain their fitness routines while staying with us. We have three treadmills, two elliptical machines, one recumbent bike, dumb bells ranging from 5-50 lbs, and a cable crossover machine. If there is specific equipment that you would like to see please give us a call and we will do our best to add it in the coming months.

Thank you again for choosing our hotel and for letting us know how we are doing.

Safe Travels,
Casey and the entire Residence Inn Denver Downtown Team

All of the staff and their willingness to go above and beyond make this hotel one that I would highly recommend. Between "Colorado Keith" and his ability to help set up a great meeting and take extra care of the guests to Julie at the front desk and her kind and helpfulness to Ben the assistant GM's concern for the quality of the stay.

Customer service seems to be slipping at many places I have visited lately, so this place was refreshing and I believe that the willingness to take care of the customer should be highly rewarded in this and all industries.

So, please trust me when I tell you that this hotel is filled with people who want to make your stay perfect. If something isn't up to par let someone know and they will do everything they can to make you happy.

We stayed at Residence Inn by Marriott on Zuni Street Denver from 13th -15th June in a two bedroom room. We had the downstairs bedroom which was comfortable and my son and his wife had the upstairs, which was also comfortable, although there was no door on it and they had to go from the bed to the bathroom crossing the top of the stairs, so if someone was stood at the bottom they would be seen. There was plenty of equipment in the kitchen for our needs. A free shuttle was provided into Denver itself or where else we wanted to go within 3 miles. Although we were told the shuttle left on the hour each day when we booked if from Denver for the return trip at 1.40 pm we were still standing waiting at 2.30 pm so we phoned again and were told we should have booked it before 2 pm. When we said we did we were told to get on the 3 pm one. Not very good service as the temperature was in the 90s and we were stood out in that heat for a long time. There are two garages nearby with convenience stores so we could buy some supplies. Overall the stay was very good and we would recommend this hotel.

queeniew,
Thank you for reviewing our hotel. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay with us! We are sorry to hear that our shuttle service was slow during the afternoon you requested the pick up. We do our best to provide speedy service to all of our guests, unfortunately sometimes traffic jams or other guest pick ups/drop offs cause unexpected delays. We are always looking to improve our services, so we will address your situation at our next manager meeting to see if we can prevent any further occurrences.

Thank you again for your review and we hope to see you again the next time you are in Denver!

We stayed at the residence in for over a week during our cross country move to the area. The good: very friendly staff in particular the ones at front desk, nice breakfast and well kept grounds. Also, located close to some great restaurants! The bad - very poor internet, and the rooms were downright filthy. Now I admit that I am a clean freak - but this was pretty bad. Our feet/socks turned black from the floors and our first room had a spider problem- so we were moved. During our stay our room was simply not cleaned twice, and when the maids cleaned they did not do a good job- in fact all i think they did was replace towels and make the bed. It was obvious it was not vacuumed very well and they did not replace things like dishwasher detergent or wipe the counter tops. In addition, the garbage cans outside our room were left overflowing one day: I think the maids (or a guest) threw out a bunch of hotel bedding in the garbage - was quite the eyesore.

Lster_12,
Thank you so much for taking the time to share about your stay with us during your cross country move. We all hope that you are settled in your new home and are loving it. We were happy to see that you rated our staff very high on service. Our staff takes pride in their service and love to make our guests smile on a daily basis.

We apologize that you did not like the cleanliness of our rooms or internet service. We do appreciate you letting us know about these items, so that we can improve for future guests and hopefully your next stay.

As an update (as of 7/11/2014) we have completed the install of a completely new internet system. This upgrade has fixed the issues that you and other guests have reported over the past year. Our hotel is now equipped with the newest and most up to date system in downtown Denver. Also, we have adopted a new cleaning program for our guest room carpets. With our new system our guest room carpets will be completely cleaned every 60 days.

Thank you again for your candid feedback. Feedback like yours really helps our hotel improve.

We stayed in a large suite with a loft bedroom, a pullout bed on the first level, and a pullout couch. It also contained two bathrooms and a kitchen and dining area. The place was nice and roomy for our 6-person party. The room is a little outdated and not necessarily clean. The grout was black and the carpet was very dirty. However, the bed was comfortable, and the location worked well for the attractions we visited (Denver Aquarium, 16th Street Mall). The breakfast was your typical hotel breakfast, which comes in handy when you can't get everyone ready and out the door in time for a restaurant. However, we only ate it one day and got donuts instead for our second breakfast. Both nights we were there, a family was enjoying the firepit outside our room pretty late into the night, which we could hear a little from our room. With the size of our family, we can't stay in a typical hotel room and have to look for the larger places like this. Therefore, would possibly stay here again.

We appreciate your feedback about your recent stay at our hotel. Our hotel is great for families like yours and we are so happy that you were all able to stay in one of our larger suites! We apologize for the appearance of the carpets in your room. We have adopted a new cleaning schedule for our guest room carpets and will be preforming a full clean every 60 days. We hope you give us the chance to host your entire family during your next trip to Denver.

We enjoyed the stay here at the Residence Inn. There were many local bars and neat shops about a block away. There is a bridge to downtown just down the street and was definitely in walking distance to many things, but we enjoy taking long walks and getting outside. The pool was pretty small, but we weren’t really there to be in a pool. There is way too much to do outside in Denver and the surrounding areas. The actual room was nice, we did the Penthouse Suite (loft), but the loft holds heat in so make sure you keep the thermostat down to combat this. There was about an inch gap under the front door, which worried me a little and there was major construction going on across the street. So the noise started at about 7am. The location is perfect and easy access to all highways. The breakfast was pretty legit, and we made sure to make it down in time every morning for this. Offered many options for people wanting to eat healthy or not so healthy. The front desk was pleasant, but the one thing I must have missed is that they authorize your credit card for an additional $20/day on top of whatever rate you have received, but only charge the regular amount, so it holds the funds until check-out. This is a great buy and location, and I would definitely recommend staying here.

Clean and spacious room, but we almost asked for a change of mattress, because it was so uncomfortable. Also the breakfast food choices are very limited. We had to get out own dishes and silverware. Residence inn is really cutting down their breakfast service. Most evident in the absence of real dishes. Eating overcooked scrambled eggs with a plastic fork on a flimsy disposable plate does not make me a happy person. The eggs (overcooked) roll right off the fork and onto the floor. Also the staff in the dining area just don't look too happy to be there. They look beaten. Too bad. Marriott used to pride themselves on their service. You can tell the owners are now more focused on cuts and profits. The shuttle service to the Convention Center was excellent. Thanks for asking.

mash1982,
Thank you for taking the time to share about your recent stay. We are so happy that you had a good stay with us. We are surprised to hear that you did not like our brand new beds, which were installed less than 60 days ago. We will be sure to inspect all of our beds in the comping weeks, so ensure we did not receive a defective mattress. We are also sorry to hear that you did not enjoy your buffet breakfast. Our staff takes great pride in producing quality food for our guests to enjoy. Items ranging for eggs Florentine, breakfast burritos fresh fruit and even a waffle bar. If you have any suggestions on different food offerings that we could try, please let us know.

We thank you again for sharing about our hotel and hope to see you again!
