I have to start with this as its the only time it has ever happened to me. I had a Goldfish in the room. Yes that's right a glass fish bowl with a live Goldfish in it. Not sure why there was a Gold fish or come to that a leopard print bath robe but there was and it added a little something. Interesting hotel with an impressive lobby. Within easy walking distance to the business district and main shopping areas.

Room Tip: Whilst no coffee machine in the room there was free coffee in the lobby in the morning.

Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you very much for taking the time to write a review about your stay with us. We really appreciate hearing from you.

It sounds like you were a part of our "Guppy Love" program. Did you know that watching a goldfish swim around in their bowl is proven to be a stress reliever? Just one of the fun perks of staying at a Kimpton Hotel.

We hope you'll be back again soon!

Best Regards,

I'm not sure why this hotel is rated so highly. It's near the 16th Street mall in Denver, but it is very dated. While it has some of the charm of a Kimpton hotel, it's nothing overly special--and the hotel is definitely starting to show it's age.

The hotel staff were friendly and pleasant, and the hotel and my room were clean. The most confusing part of arriving was trying to locate the "valet" parking. Eventually, a guy walked out to our car and asked us if we were staying there, if we wanted valet, or if we wanted to park in one of the nearby garages. It was an odd conversation that lasted 30 seconds and left us confused. We pulled up to the valet, wanted valet, but it seemed like he was trying to sell us in parking in a garage instead.

But, the overall experience wasn't bad--just average. It's just a dated property that is starting to show it's age around the fringes.

We wanted to stay at one of the upscale Denver hotels for my daughter's birthday, but needed a hotel that offered connecting rooms that would easily sleep 8 people. It turned out that the Hotel Monaco was the only one that was available and I'm glad, because the entire experience was great. The rooms were decorated nicely, were clean, and well furnished. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. They even left balloons and snacks in the room for us. We couldn't have been happier and the prices this time of year can't be beat. The hotel is also in a great location for visiting downtown. While we did not eat at Panzano's this stay (on site restaurant), I've eaten there before and always had a great meal.

I arrived at the front of the hotel and found no valet or parking signs. I waited a few minutes on the busy downtown road and no valet. I called the front desk to find out what to do and was told to just wait. Valet finally came and surprised me with a $33 per night parking fee. I never saw that on the hotel website. The floor in the room slants on each side to an angle in the middle and the security lock on the door does not work unless you kick the door. I just signed an $18 room service tab for coffee and a danish, the fruit cup that was suppose to be included is not here. I was forced into this hotel because of "corporate rates", which turned out to be $70 more a night than hotels where you can at least get a complementary breakfast.

Stayed here with a friend over thanksgiving. The staff was all friendly, helpful and really went out of their way to answer our questions. We were on the fifth floor in a corner room, which was plenty spacious and really well decorated. Pet friendly. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Denver, really appreciate all the staff members who worked the holiday!

Room Tip: 515 is a little bigger and on a corner.

This will be my go to hotel in Denver from now on. I was here on business and was assigned to a lovely King Suite room on the second floor. Everything in the room is perfect for relaxing and getting work done. If you are a Kimpton In-touch member, (be sure to sign up before you go) the hotel gives you credit for the in-room mini-bar so you can get a late night snack! Also they have bottled water available in the room. With a fitness center, bikes to ride around town and a great restaurant on the first floor this hotel really has everything one needs for a restful and productive stay.
