Great selection of animals...easy to reach by public transportation. Very clean and well laid out for easy viewing of the animals. Worth the price of admission.

Thank Bill H

This was my second time to this zoo and I have to say it is one of my favorite zoos to go to. There is always somthing new to see when you walk through the gates. As a side note, my wife and I got to walk through the new Africa exhibit during their preview weekend last year, and we liked it then, but since returning this summer and seeing the finished product, we love it even more.

Interesting zoo with very nice habitats for the animals. Most every animal I was looking forward to view. Snack bar was nice for a light lunch. Was rather hot with asphalt walks in much of the zoo. Loved the animal character carousel which is fun for all ages, train too.

We took our 3 year old here and had just the best time! We stopped by on Monday and were surprised by the lack of crowds. It was 85F, but with all the massive shade trees it was not bad at all! Sure there are areas with lots of sun so be sure to bring the sunblock. But cool areas seem just around every corner.
We parked in the free public parking area. Tons of shade trees here too. Perfect spot for a picnic. Military gets a few dollars off the admission price at the gate. All the animals we saw just seemed happy and well fed. No thin sad looking animals. Makes you feel better about them being in captivity. We arrived around 1pm and were able to see everything by 5pm walking slowly. Our son was really looking forward to the train. But it had broken down before we were able to take a ride. From what the employees were saying it happens all the time. So be sure to not make train ride promises to little ones. They sell beer inside the zoo! Didn't pay much attention as it was rather warm and all I wanted was a bottled water ($3.75).

Overall we had such a nice time! We will be back!
