“Nice Hotel Horrible Area!”
Reviewed 2 July 2012

Like the previous poster as we approached the hotel we were concerned as the area has a "hood" feel to it. It is rundown and not where you would want to spend any length of time. If you are just spending one night and pulling off the Interstate then this hotel will work, otherwise using it as a hub to see Denver, then I would advise to stay elsewhere. We checked out after one night and moved to the Westminster hotel where the area is much nicer.

As for the hotel it is a very nice property as all is new, you cannot go wrong here, however, they do not take great care of the pool as when we went in to look at it you could hardly see the bottom as it was murky so beware of your children getting ill.

If you are reserving a King bed room I was advised that they do not have bathtubs only showers. I found this out upon getting the room, only having to change to two Queen beds. Be aware that they will change without a problem but will charge you the difference in price on your bill the next day after telling you there would be no charge. I did get this resolved, however, pay attention to your bill.

I stay all over the country at La Quinta's and this is not sour grapes but rather advise for the fellow traveler, as I based my stay on the positive reviews on this board which were misleading or they were once a year travelers.

Overall, nice building, horrible area and other little quirks.

We booked this hotel based on all the accolades and the million positive reviews on Tripadvisor, but we were not dissapointed at all, as sometimes we are when the rating seems too good to be true and we expect trumpets and fanfare at checkin with grapes and giant feather fans. It's clean and new and comfortable! The staff is friendly, they let us check in early at 1230p, and was extra patient with my Rhode Island accent. "What ah the pool hourahs?" Of course we would have loved to stay downtown but I just couldn't pull the trigger on $300+ AND another $29 for parking plus whatever else for just a quick night in Denver before we get lost in the mountains. So for around $150 AAA rate (total) you get a nice new hotel about twenty mins outside of Denver. It sells out so make sure you make a reservation. Cancellation policy is the day before I believe. If you have a car you have the entire city at your steering wheel. There are a couple of malls closeby.

New and clean. Friendly. Nice rooms with bug-free beds. Fresh, contemporary designs with warm colors and tones. Our room smelled nice (sorry, how my room smells is a big deal to me!) Wide screen TV with basic cable. Fridge, micro, FREE wifi, and FREE parking. Sink and tub and toilet were spotless when we checked in.

We were not so crazy about the location however. This La Quinta isn't at the airport and it's not downtown. It's about halfway in between, located within an area of commercial warehouses and distribution hubs. The grounds around the outside are scruffy and dried out, especially outside our window. You can see mountains but they are far off. We drove up and were wondering for a second if we really made the right decision with this place but it lasted a second once we got inside and stayed awhile and later drove around. It's totally fine. It's a business hotel near lots of business headquarters. The pool is basic, inside, and the room is not air conditioned so I was sweating while I checked email (did I mention free hotel wifi?) and watched the kids get out their pent up energy from traveling on an airplane all day. But I went into the workout room adjacent to the pool room and caught up on the latest wildfire news on the TV while I watched them in cool comfort through the window. I guess I could have jumped on the treadmill but I could barely breathe with this mile high air nevermind try to work out! Breakfast was fine if you like a quick coffee and some cereal or a bagel. There's a McDonalds and Starbucks across the street, 7-11 next door. We heard no large truck traffic at all. TV was NOT hi def however. The nerve!

So overall I thought it was perfect for what we wanted. You can definitely trust the positive reviews and good vibe.

The hotel seems brand new. It was the best hotel we have stayed in in a long time. Great price and great for pets. We are always checking for cleanliness and bed bugs. The Hoyle and room were immaculate and no bed bugs. The area may seem unsafe at first but it is very safe. We felt safe and the hotel staff was great. Normal continental breakfast. Wereally liked the marble shower and attention to detail . It was an amazing stay and would highly recommend it. We travel across country twice a year and have stayed in many hotels that are pet friendly. This is the best and no pet fee!

After traveling from Oregon and staying in cheap places, we decided to splurge. So worth the extra!! Room was beautiful and beds were heavenly. Bathroom was excellent size...only thing I thought odd was the sink didn't have a stopper. Pool looked great. Breakfast was fine and employees smiled!! You don't see that very often. If we ever find ourselves in the area again, this will be our choice to stay.
