For my retirement, my wife surprised me with an evening stay at this great "boutique" hotel in the heart of Cherry Creek. We have previously spent Friday Happy Hours in the Second Home bar and loved the atmosphere and energy. The appetizers are delicious and plated beautifully. Dinner in the Second Home Kitchenwas just excellent as we both had different special fish entree's. After a stroll around Cherry Creek, we came back for a night cap in the bar again.

It was a perfect day/evening. Thanks to the staff who all were accommodating and personable.

My wife and I just returned from a week there. As others have mentioned: the location is terrific for stores and restaurants; the front desk people and the breakfast staff are superb; the rooms are spacious and nicely decorated; the bathrooms are big and well lit with separate tubs and showers; our lunch at the on-site restaurant was very nice. The "but" - house-keeping was spotty all week and horrendous on the last day (we returned at 4:45PM for a banguet @ 6PM in the hotel to find nothing had been done to refresh our room). Several of our other conference attendees had a similar experience. Otherwise this would have been a "five star" experience.

Room Tip: As noted by others, don't get a room that faces on the "Tent"; it can loud outside the...

We picked a warm time to visit Denver with daytime temperatures over 105. We wondered if we'd be able to sleep. We need not have worried.

Our spacious room had very effective air conditioning with a comfortable bed and the room was quiet so we slept great. Our room faced an office building and the on-site "night club" on the first floor got quiet by 11:30 so our sleep not disturbed.

The room was not new but the furniture was comfortable and the large bathroom was well maintained and clean with a nice big shower, separate tub, and two sinks with counter space.

As we ventured out we discovered lots of good shopping and saw quite a variety of restaurants. There is a large mall a few blocks away and a premium grocery store and the staff was helpful with suggestions and directions. Traffic was light so this is a nice area to walk or ride bikes.

Room Tip: We were in #820. It faced into a courtyard space with an open air " club " on the first fl...

I visited the JW Marriott as part of a business conference. It's is a great hotel near a newly developed area that's not quite in the center of the city of Denver. Good shopping and plenty of restaurants are within walking distance.

Everything about the hotel is top notch including the staff. They are solicitous and helpful.

Rooms are of high caliber as is what you would expect for a JW Marriott. Beds are comfortable and the room was imaculate.

This is an excellent hotel. The rooms were clean and well maintained.
The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions and suggestions.
This hotel is in a great location for shopping and dining. You can leave the car parked and easily walk to the mall, local shops and restaurants. There are several great restaurants in the area. The hotel's restaurant, Second Home, was good, too. The menu had a variety of items and in a reasonable price range. The bar was busy on the weekend.
If you choose to drive, it's pretty easy to get around.
There is no pool at this hotel, but there are two jacuzzis. They are more like backyard hot tubs than a landscaped jacuzzi.
There is free wi-fi in the rooms. Parking is valet.
It cost a little more to stay in this area than in downtown, but it was convenient for what we were looking for.
If you're there over a Wednesday or Saturday, check out the Farmer's Market just a few blocks away. Lots of great food and unique souvenirs.

I get it. JW Marriott. But what about the name associated with the brand. At times, I can't tell the difference from a full service Marriott and a JW.  I can tell the difference among residence inn, courtyard, springhill suite and the ritz almost 99% of the time. But the JW Brand is though for me.  Just saying,  I think the founder of the Marriott chain should have a distinguished brand.  If it can't be done, just refer to the property as a full service Marriott.
Ok. Cherry Creek "JW" is nice. Great location. Great view of the mountains with a room that has a view.  Concierge lounge was staffed with great attendants, but the lounge itself is normal-nothing great. The bar area is fun-great location yields great people watching-but not mind-blowing. The spa was less than expected. My message was ok, but the facilities are on par or below a full service Marriott.
The staff was great, but nothing that was extraordinary.  They did their job which is normal for a well functioning hotel. Here is my recommendation.  Stay here if you need the location.  You will be well served. Just don't expect to be WOW'd. I would not go out of my way to stay here, but I would return if I needed the location. So maybe that is my answer JW = location, not necessarily the quality of property or service.  So, 5 stars for the Denver location, everything else above average.

Dear Hammerangel,

Thank you for posting a review regarding your recent stay. You are correct that we should certainly provide service at a level above a regular Full Service Marriott. Generally speaking we do, but I do apologize this was not your experience. Yes, the location is great, but it should not be our best strength. Hopefully you will give us another chance to show you what a great hotel we can be. Please feel free to contact me personally if and when you are returning to the hotel.

Have a wonderful day!
