Queen of Sheeba is located in a tiny, nondescript end unit in a Colfax strip mall. Not much to look at from the outside, but once you go in...what an experience.
The dining room is tiny, but very comfortable. It's open to the kitchen, so you can see the owner preparing the food. Queen of Sheeba is a casual dining restaurant with table service. With a roll of paper towels on each table, it almost falls into the 'fast casual' category.
My mother had never eaten Ethiopian food before, so we shared a Queen's Feast platter, which came with chicken (Doro Wat, beef, lamb, collard greens, lentils, & cabbage/potato all surrounded by injera (the spongy flatbread that you use to pick up your food).
There was also a choice of appetizer; we had the lentil sambussa.
The Queen's Platter includes a beverage. We both ordered the honey wine, which perfectly cuts through the warm spiciness of the seasonings.
We arrived at 5:30pm on a Saturday night. The place was *packed* an hour later.
Call ahead if you have more than 2 in your party.
I can't wait to go back.
