I found Papou's had 4 stars on our GPS searching 'italian'. The location is easy to find and parking is convenient. It is located in a strip mall. The dining area is small and quaint. It does offer a nice view of a skyscraper or two through the front windows. We sat down and promptly ordered, I had the primavera and Nicole had the baked ziti. We were offered salad and bread while we waited. The bread was fine but we were not offered oil or vinegar, only some packaged butter. Nicole enjoyed the salad and complimented the homemade dressing. We recieved our dishes after watching the asian cook walk in and out of the front door a half dozen times, it was rather odd. My bowl of penne noodles was accompanied by very little of anything. Nicoles baked penne noodles were thankfully a little better dressed. My dish was fresh tasting ingredient wise but was borderline bland. Trying to make my 'fixings' go bite for bite left me with a half bowl of penne pasta left over. I was satisfied but not exactly full, even after having several slices of bread. Nicole enjoyed her ziti but also agreed that it was somewhat bland. We were not terribly disappointed with the meal until we paid the $24 bill. For a two bowls of bland penne during lunch? This was a one time visit.
