What a great park. Obviously the Botanic Gardens to the east are the real draw in the area, but Cheesman Park is a great big urban park worthy of your time.

Cheesman Park has the best views of both downtown and mountains, wide open green space combined with nice wooded trails. Proximity to the botanic gardans also makes it a nice place to spend the day. Parking is easy, and the surrounding neighborhoods have some of the prettiest mansions in the city.

A great place to go for a run and a look at the mountains. Very relaxing park that would be great for a picnic. If you're a tourist though, don't go out of your way to get here.

Right by the Botanic Gardens, nice place to picnic on the lawn or walk. Beautiful pavilion sits in the middle of the park. Read up on the history of the park and its significance beforehand, or just visit for a relaxing time.

Great place to have a picnic and play some volley ball or frisbee. Known for a GLBT friendly park. Great spot for some family portraits too!
