“Great staff, rooms, and pool.”
Reviewed 6 September 2011

Really enjoyed this hotel. The service can be summed up by when I called the front desk to ask if I could borrow a bottle opener. The man there said he had one on his personal key chain and would be right up to my room. He was there in 2 minutes! Rooms were nice and clean and we enjoyed the late night pool and hot tub. Could walk to 16th St in about 10 minutes for plenty to do!

We stayed at this Hampton Inn over Labor Day weekend and couldn't have found a better place for the price. The Hotel was nice, the people were very friendly, and the breakfast area was spacious. The beds were also very comfortable and the room was very clean and well-kept! We also couldn't hear a thing out of the neighboring rooms. The best part though was the convenient location. The Taste of Colorado festival was going on downtown and we were close enough to walk there very comfortably but just out-of-the-way enough to avoid the congestion. Parking can be a nightmare downtown and very expensive, but the lot across the street allowed for at least 24 hours for $4. That was by far the cheapest we saw. We'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

This Hampton Inn is a great value when considering the costs of hotels in downtown Denver. The hotel itself is in great condition - everything looks new/updated. The staff is very friendly and willing to help with anything you need, from calling a cab to renting an umbrella. Breakfast is the standard Hampton offering, and there is always coffee available in the lobby, even after breakfast hours.

The drawback to this hotel, however, is the location. While it's in downtown, it's surrounded by pay-per-use parking lots. It's perfectly safe to walk out and about during the day, but the parking lots surrounding the hotel lack security in the evening hours. Given that the Hampton is surrounded by businesses instead of shops and restaurants, there are not many people walking in its area of downtown at night. It's really only a short 10 minute walk from the 16th Street Mall, but I would recommend walking with a group.

The hotel is near the 16th St Mall. But that should not deter you. Good service, pleasant accommodations. Good selection for breakfast. Forget the mall. It's depressing and not worth the walk.

This hotel is in a good location as a base for seeing Denver. There is a B Bike station a few blocks away and the 16th street mall was close as well. The hotel seems to be right at the edge of the downtown area but Denver is generally pretty small so it was not an issue getting around. We did need a cab to get to City Park and the Botanical Gardens. The pool and hot tub were nice but did have alot of chemicals. The breakfast was decent enough as well. We also found the hotel to be generally quiet as we were on the second floor facing a street and could not really hear too much noise. The lobby is small but nice and the front desk staff were generally friendly and helpful. They arranged for a limo to take us to the airport at 5:30am the day with left with no issues. They even sent us away with a breakfast to go bag, All in all I would stay here again if ever in the area.

stayed here on hilton honors points. the lady at the front desk did not even acknowledge me as a HH member nor did I get an upgrade. the room was OK, bed was comfortable. the free breakfast was ok, though no one replenished the food (fruit was gone 1/2 way through the breakfast). the location was good, in walking distance to the baseball stadium, capital, and museum. the cookies in the afternoon were fantastic.for the price it is no frills, but fine.

My wife and I stayed 2 nights at the Hampton Inn on Sherman Street in Denver after visiting with family in Steamboat Springs.

We arrived at about 10am in the morning after an early and long 3 1/2hour shuttle ride and went right to the Hamton Inn hoping to check in immediately, drop our luggage and shower before going out to tour Denver.

We were told as is all too often the case that the hotel was full and no rooms were ready to check in. I appealed to the front desk person, Angela
and said we would really appreciate being able to have our room asap. Angela said she would see what she could do.

20 minutes later, Voila! Anglea and the housecleaning staff had our room ready. Her assistant Adam helped with the process too.

This was excellent service and it was done with a pleasant "can do" attitude and a smile.

The hotel itself is quite pleasant, clean, well located within walking distance
of the 16th St. Mall, Capitol Building and many shops and restaurants.

I would highly recommend this hotel and applaud the excellent service Angela provided to us!
