“A must do if you are into concerts.”
Reviewed 23 January 2013

This place has won America's Best Honkey Tonk for lord knows how many years and its easy to see why. Its a smaller venue but EVERYBODY has played here on their way to stardom and several come back. Lots of big names for a decent price in a cozy place. Drinks are average price. Decor is exactly what you would think with wood everywhere. The only drawback to mention is that the dance floor gets packed during concerts so that there is no place to dance. The local guys that play are usually pretty decent and there is plenty of room to dance then though. Oh one more drawback is that some nights are "family nights" where it is 18 and up.

“Great night out”
Reviewed 18 November 2012

Went to the Grizzly Rose to see the Turnpike Troubadours in October. Not only are they a fantastic band, (we are family), the management was great to us and all of our friends who came to see turnpike. The restrooms are plentiful and clean, there are several choices for food, and the best part is that is a non-smoking venue (smoking area available outside). And the wait staff was friendly and efficient.

“OMG -- Country!”
Reviewed 25 October 2012 via mobile

If you enjoy real country music and dance you will love the Grizzly Rose.
The place is huge, the beer is cheap and yes, you can ride the bull!
The dance floor is the largest I had ever seen.
Great fun even if you only want to drink and people watch.
Not in downtown Denver but any cabbie will know how to find it.
Very popular so expect crowds.
What a hoot!

“Disappointed country bar goers.”
Reviewed 13 September 2012

We were excited to go there being from  out of town and use to country bars. Took at $20 taxi ride out. Had a great time (even though the dj/"boss" didn't play one song we requested, which was a general genre of country music). They closed early (11pm) even though the time posted online and at the door was 2am. We asked the doorman 6 songs before actual closing time for taxi (like any normal bar). Even though the taxi was 30 minutes late and the doorman called a handful of times to numerous cabbies, the owner kicked us out in the cold and locked the door behind him saying your taxi should be here soon . Sad thing is, the bartender was very nice and the bouncer went out of his way to call several taxi companies for us. The dj/"boss" was extremly rude and not what we would consider a good business/people person. We will never go there again. Locals continue going, out of towners, don't waste your money.

“Western Style Fun”
Reviewed 7 September 2012

This was more than just a bar. The night we went there were dueling bands, who were both very good. It was mostly country music, but popular songs. Drinks were fairly priced and the atmosphere was a completely western feel and so fun! There was a dance floor where there was line dancing, most of the men are happy to teach a girl who is not sure how to dance. There is also a mechanical bull. We got to meet and have a lot of fun with the locals, they showed us a really good time!
