“Very nice location...difficult layout for conferences”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

I recently attended a work-related conference in Denver and stayed at the Sheraton in downtown Denver for three nights. It was in a fantastic location off 16th very close to great shops and restaurants. The property is well-maintained and looks to have been remodeled recently. There is a Peete's coffee and a Yardhouse restaurant/bar on property as well as the hotel-run restaurant (which I didn't try). The hotel was busy with several events, so I was given a roomy "accessible" room with an awkward shower arrangement to accommodate wheelchairs that allowed the water to run out onto the main floor area of the bathroom...resulting in lots of wet towels! The hotel is split into two areas, Plaza and Tower and I stayed in the Tower side since our conference was over there. Getting back and forth between the Plaza and Tower was a bit challenging requiring a lot of walking, elevators, cross walks and escalators. Our event was spread out as well and it felt a bit like wandering through catacombs to get to some of the meeting rooms. There are very nice interactive maps which I unfortunately needed to use often.

Our meals were pretty good overall, in fact one reception in particular provided very good heavy appetizers. The quality and freshness of the food were excellent.

We were able to walk to several local restaurants which was terrific, and the staff at the hotel were professional and very good. I stayed on an SPG floor and housekeeping did a great job of getting my room cleaned up while I was out...never coming early in the morning to get in to clean.

Overall my experience was very good...not amazing, but very good. I would stay again on business, but if on a personal visit to Denver I would prefer to stay on the Plaza side.

On a side note, the gym at this property is excellent. Large, spacious with plenty of machines, and treadmills so I never had to wait...even when it was busy.

Room Tip: Stay on the Plaza side if you can...getting back and forth between the Tower side can be a bit of a...

Green Features: Do something about the shower set up in the accessible room. Even with the shower curtain closed the water runs out into the main bathroom floor forcing me to use clean towels to soak up excessive water.

We loved this hotel! The staff are friendly and helpful. The interior is beautiful! Guest rooms are modern and clean. The hotel has great proximity to shopping, dining, & night life. We would stay here again in a heartbeat! I would highly recommend this hotel!

I stayed at the Sheraton Denver Downtown for two nights with a friend. The best part of this hotel is its location--at the start of the 16th Street Mall, a pedestrian-friendly street, closed off to cars, with great restaurants, bars and stores. I got this hotel on a Hotwire rate of $120 a night, and it was definitely worth that and more.

The room was nice and clean, but overall, average, and no refrigerator. Nothing really "stood out" to me, and the "free" wifi cut out every five minutes, where you needed to go through the entire login process again.

Tip: Hotel parking is a steep $28 for self parking or $37 for valet. If you park at the Denver Post underground lot, an overnight is only $17, and it's a block from the hotel.

its in the heart of downtown , with bars and restaurants down stairs the staff was nice you don't need a car if your just hanging out in downtown, the rooms are clean but nothing special. i got a great deal for 90 thru hotwire so i cant complain the view was very nice and again all the staff was great . oh and the room service was fast and the food was great except the deserts if you want something sweet go downstairs to yard house or one of the restaurants on 16th street mall because the ones they have suck! oh at first the two tower thing bothered me but i did get a nice view and i got over it.

We reserved a two room suite at this hotel and stayed on the second floor of the directors plaza. It was a corner suite with a lot of large windows, but they looked out over the air conditioners and at a wall. I would request an upper floor. The hotel sits on one end of 16th street which is the main strip. Excellent location to walk to all the restaurants and bars. The room was clean and the beds were excellent along with the pillows. The bathroom was tiny but done nicely. The pool is on the upper floor and was decent sized. There were 4 private cabanas and several chairs to lounge in. The pool was never busy and always had a place to sit down. We attended a conference in the hotel and the lay out is so weird. We would take an elevator up a level to have to walk down a stair case. Not the end of the world, but easy to get spun around without signs. Expect 45 minute taxi ride from the airport. The taxi ride was $55.00 from the airport to the hotel. We contacted the Concierge at the hotel and made reservations for a private car service back to the airport and it was only $65.oo. As for Denver and 16th street, there was a lot of bars and restaurants but be aware the strip is filled with homeless baggers. It is probably one of the worst metro area's in the country I've been with so many homeless on the streets. If I were to return I would definitely consider staying at the Sheraton again. I would simply ask for an upper level room.

Room Tip: Choose an upper room in the hotel

I stayed here 3 nights for a business trip and it was okay. Perfect location for where I needed to be just a walk across the street for my work, however I guess I expected a lot more from the Sheraton just from the past Sheratons I've stayed at but this one did not do it for me. The Staff was very nice and very helpful for any questions I had which was nice. I will say some of the hotel is a bit outdated. I was in the tower and no easy way to really get there from the front desk. I will say the room service was very fast and the food was hot considering how large of a hotel it is. The staff that was there for room service were very friendly. I like that the Yard House is attached, nice restaurant and you don't need to go outside which is nice. There is a Starbucks right across the street as well which is nice if you like Starbucks. I will say the bed was very comfortable which is always plus and the pillows are were good too and very quiet which is huge plus when traveling for business and it being such a big hotel. One thing to note and remember it is an older hotel it appears that they did update as much as they could but not 100%. The wireless was not very good it did not always work which was an issue. The location was perfect with lots of resturants around and shopping but was not overwhelmed.

Room Tip: The Tower is quiet not in the main area but it is a bit further way from the main lobby but not as b...

Staff was friendly, and happily resolved an issue regarding an erroneous parking charge. Great location. Sign up for the rewards program, and spring for the Members Lounge. Great free food and drink 24/7. Super comfy beds and pillows. Pet Friendly!

Room Tip: Ask for a view of the Capitol building.
