“Choose somewhere else for a 'quiet night'.”
Reviewed 12 October 2009

Hotel in good position being only one block from 16th Street Mall. Rooms medium sized, clean and comfortable. However the walls are paper thin and the noise from the antique elevator has to be heard to be believed, at 4.00am it is not remotely amusing. All rooms seem to be very near this elevator....we stayed one night prior and one night after a touring holiday and both rooms shared the same problems. The plumbing and air conditioning too are extremely noisy. After a twenty one hour journey from home in the UK, suffering from jet lag this is the last thing you need.

Reasonably good included breakfast. Free internet in business centre although one PC was 'down'. Pleasant lobby and staff. Airport shuttle picks up opposite, outside Brown Palace, unless you are standing there and then it picks up outside Quality Inn. Brown Palace doorman did halt the traffic for us to re-cross the road, which was appreciated.

If the noise is not a problem then this is a convenient moderately price hotel. If I was staying there again I would invest in some good ear plugs which would help.

I have to give this hotel 5/5!

My husband and I stayed at the Comfort Inn Downtown for four nights last week. We got a rate of $99 per night through sidestep.com. We were very limited as to where we would stay, as our trip was kind of last-minute, and many hotels were full due to conferences, etc.

The Comfort Inn did not disappoint. It was about a 35 minute drive from the airport via shuttle. We arrived at 11:00am and our room was ready (we had requested an early check in). We were on the 18th floor, with a great view of the downtown area. The room was larger than I had expected (some other reviews indicated the rooms were tiny); however, the bathroom was a little small. But, CLEAN. The room and bathroom were quite clean, no issues there. The king-size bed was absolutely comfortable.

Complimentary breakfast is offered in the lobby each morning - hashbrowns, eggs, waffles, toast, cereal, muffins, yogurt, juice, milk, tea, coffee. Nice selection to start the day. Many guests seemed to make use of this, as the dining area was full each morning (but no trouble to get a table - large area).

The location itself was quite central - just one block off the 16th Street mall. You could walk anywhere in minutes - Pepsi Center, Coor's Field, US Mint, State Capitol, etc. It's connected via skywalk to the Brown Palace Hotel. Unfortunately, we did not get the opportunity to check it out.

We did not make use of the work-out facilities, or room service, therefore, I cannot comment there.

Complimentary internet was also a bonus.

All in all, we had a great stay at the Comfort. Good quality for the price. I would recommend this hotel to others.

In Denver for a convention at the Grand Hyatt which is half a block away. Comfort Inn half the price - and you get a free, and more than adequate, breakfast which makes it even better location. Got a good deal off priceline.com - less than $100 which for downtown Denver is great - and the location could not be bettered. Its on 17th street - downtown Denver's main business street and a block away from the lively 16th Street Mall. It is connected to one of Denver's grand old hotels - the Brown Palace and used to be part of the Brown. As i understand it it is still managed by the Brown even though its a Comfort Inn and you can get Brown Palace room service, laundry etc. - and you get a 15% discount at the Brown's two restaurants. Was given room on 22nd floor - not enormous but more than adequate with queen bed, good writing desk and chair etc. and the best broadband service (you can get both wired and wireless) I have ever had in a hotel - or anywhere else for that matter - at no additional charge. I checked it on a speed rating site and it was 30 Mbs. Great for a business trip - and again I'm sure that if I stayed at one of the so called better hotels here one would have to pay for internet. Thoroughly recommended.

Stopped for 3 nights at start of road trip after flying into Denver. Booked Room 1975 - on a corner, entrance area, large lounge with double sofa bed, chair, coffee table, desk tv. Separate large double room with ensuite and another large king size ensuite. Arrived late so had room service - took a bit of time but delicious, fresh and great value. Fantastic view from large 90 degree windows in lounge. Looked across at exclusive Browns hotel one way and down to the city the other. One block takes you to the pedestrianized 16th street Mall that runs from Capital building down to Grand Union Station. Quiet bridge link joins to beautiful, grand Browns hotel that you would walk across because you look down on the atrium reception and up to the beautiful stain-glassed roof. Valet parking $20 a day a bit steep but then it is city centre and you certainly don't need a car for major attractions. Breakfast included - throw-away plates and cutlery but certainly a handy start to the day and enough choice to keep us all happy.

I too was screwed by this hotel's overbooking. Made an online reservation in early July for a Sept 24 stay. Used a credit card, and got a confirmation email stating the reservation was guaranteed. On August 19, over five weeks later, they called and basically said sorry we overbooked and your on your own now! I talked to the reservation manager and the only compensation was to give me a list of other hotels I might call! I have made a formal complaint with the Choice Hotels corporate office but so far am just getting the runaround. They say the Comfort Inn Denver must itself resolve the problem. I will update if it is resolved to my satisfaction, but for now, make a reservation at your own risk!!

I wish you could give a hotel 0 stars, because this one deserves it. We stayed for three nights, while we were gone during our last day there, housekeeping came in and completely cleared ALL of our property out of the room. When we got back to the room they had no idea where our stuff was! After the night security insisted that one of us had taken it, and that they would "Never do that" we were forced to wait to the morning with none of our property just to find out what happened. In the morning they finally figured out what they had done with our stuff but only returned some of it. They stole unopened bottles of alchohol and semi-precious stones from us and just gave our clothes back. The security guard in the morning was incredibly rude and treated us as if we were the theives. I am the manager at a hotel myself, and if any of my staff acting remotely like these people did, they would be fired on the spot. NEVER stay at this hotel. It's a nice building but that doesn't cover the ghetto thugs that work there.

This hotel did not rate above a "C" with us.
Value: We paid $112.00 for an AARP rate plus tax plus the $20 valet parking for two nights totalling$297 for two nights.
The location being a block from the 16th street mall and near downtown attractions was excellent and convenient.
The included breakfast was adequate.
The hotel was clean. The elevator got backed up often and was slow.
The air conditioning was thermostat controlled and despite any of our efforts and instructions from the front desk, it remained uncomfortably cold and for the first time in my life, I wore my coat to bed in an attempt to keep warm.
If you come from an area where the time is much earlier, don't expect to check in early!
