Reviewed 26 June 2014

Hotel staff are very courteous and professional. The bathrooms are really small and the TVs are old. Besides that, it was a good stay. I like, and usually stay at Embassy Suites when I travel. The breakfast and happy hour is awesome!

Dear Michelle G.,

Thank you very much for your fantastic comments about the hotel staff as well as the complimentary cooked to order breakfast and complimentary evening happy hour. I will certainly share your thoughts with the entire staff. We believe our TV’s will be replaced by the end of the month and we are very excited for the change. Thank you again and we look forward to seeing you on your next trip to Denver.

Hospitably Yours,

This was a very clean room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast had a great variety of food. I highly recommend this hotel. Close to shopping and easy excess on/off freeway. Staff was helpful with getting a taxi for us as well as wake up service. Delores at the bar was an awesome Bartender, the only thing that wasn't too good was the snack at the evening reception, could add a little bit more than chips with salsa and a snack mix. I love all the Hilton Hotels

This older Hilton full service property is still a good place to stay even though it is in need of, and will be getting renovations in the near future. When you walk into the lobby. you will immediately notice how bright and beautiful the floors and atrium are, but, you will also notice that all the greenery and waterfalls have created humidity which makes for a slightly damp odor. The rooms are truly spacious and have huge windows and small balcony areas in the master bedroom. Even though the furniture is definitely 1980's, it is still functional but the televisions are ancient and the mattresses are too soft. There is a large sink and vanity area in the bedroom and then another smaller sink and vanity in the bathroom. A nice idea is that there are two doors to the bathroom so that it can be accessed from the bedroom or from the living room area. Hopefully this will become a nonsmoking property as you will not want a room on the top (7th) floor as it is a mix of smoking and non-smoking rooms, but you can't avoid the lingering smell of nicotine anywhere on the floor. Swimming pools are very important to me and I didn't use this one at all. The pool area is dark, dreary and poorly ventilated and not a place I wanted to be. On the VERY POSITIVE side, the food service and restaurant in this hotel is probably one of the best! The included freshly made breakfast had plenty of cooks and wait staff, so the food was delicious, the grills and pans were kept clean, and no long waiting lines. The manager's party, every evening, has snacks and complimentary cocktails, however, don't fill up on the snacks on a Friday night, but be sure to order the "all you can eat" prime rib buffet. Trust me, this is more about quality than quantity and it was great. There is a lively bar and this is a great hotel if you are meeting friends in the area as we were. I would definitely return to this hotel and hope that when I do the renovations will be in place. The staff at this hotel does a great job of making everyone feel welcome.

Room Tip: Avoid the 7th floor if you are a non-smoker!

Dear peanutsNewYork,

Thank you very much for your comments in regards to your recent stay. I sincerely appreciate your kind words about your experiences and I certainly appreciate the positive experiences you pointed out such as our All You Can Eat Crab and Prime Rib Buffets as well as the pleasant experience you had with the staff. Our complete renovation is scheduled to begin in November and new TV’s are expected by August. This hotel is stuck in a time warp. I checked in and was transported to 1983. Seriously, everything is clean and in good working order but it is SO dated! The property is pretty odd. It's 7 floors high which all rooms facing in to a large atrium with waterfall and dining room. It is pretty bizarre. They could definitely use this property as a location for any 80s movies. In the bedroom the telephone is one of those old style push button phones and the furniture is that very heavy dark wood that was so 80s fabulous. The microwave which is located under the wet bar looks like it belongs in a museum. I have never even seen one that looks like this. It's almond colored plastic and has to be one of the first microwaves.

Despite being in a time warp, the property is in very good shape. The 25-30 year old furniture has held up very well and for its age.

If you want to try something different and don't need the newest furninshings to make your hotel stay enjoyable this property may be for you. I would stay here again.

Room Tip: The made to order breakfasts are really nice and the rooms are pretty spacious.

Dear Jennk1975,

Thank you very much for your comments and I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay overall. We are also greatly anticipating our forthcoming renovation but I sincerely appreciate that you noticed and commented on the overall upkeep and service of the hotel. It is not always the nicest, newest amenities that matter to all guests and I sincerely appreciate that you took the time to look beyond the physical condition of the property and notice the good things that are certainly abound at the hotel. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next trip to the Denver area. Thanks again.

Always stay at Embassy Suites...the complimentary cooked-to-order breakfasts are awesome and the evening manager's specials are great to take the edge off your hunger before you prepare for dinner. The pool needs some repairs on the floor but that's the only thing we noticed awry.

We just got back from staying at this E.S. After reading some prior reviews I thought I'd clear some things up. Yes, some of the furniture is older, but who cares? The bed was comfortable and the staff was very nice. They had a great breakfast buffet on Sunday morning. The rest of the week they had made to order omelets, bacon, sausage, French toast, pancakes, potatoes, fruit and breads. And since it was free I can't complain. The weekend breakfast went until 1030 and weekday until 9. Then from 530 to 730 they served free well drinks, as well as Budweiser and 2 type of wines for free. They also would serve light food at this time such as chips, pretzels with nuts and fruit. Please tip the bartender or wait staff. The drinks are free, so cough up a few bucks. The atrium where they serve breakfast and drinks is nice, but smaller than most E.S's that I have been in. It does have a nice waterfall. As for the room, they are nice but a bit dated. I do like that both rooms have doors to get into the bathroom. Please, please be aware that if you have small kids the small balcony is no place for them to be. They can easily fall through the rails. And even though they have a bar to keep the door shut, also make sure the sliding door itself is locked as an extra safeguard. Also, they have a small pool-but be aware that unlike many hotel pools this one has a deep end of 6 feet. As for location it is within walking distance of Target next door and a gas station. Also within a 5 minute walk is pizza, Qdoba, and a deli. A supermarket, Walgreens and many restaurants are within a 5 minute drive. I-25 is also a couple of minutes away. The zoo and science museum were about a 10-15 minute drive. The maid service was wonderful. They did a great job cleaning. My only complaint was one day they were testing the fire alarms and that same day the hot water was out for several hours. In the end, yes furniture was dated- but staff had the rooms clean. It's close to Target and restaurants, they give you a big breakfast and free drinks.

Buffet fri and sat were very good. Managers Reception added value to our stay. Hotel overall needs some remodeling but still very comfortable and clean. Good location and relaxing public areas. Pool had some sharp areas on the pool floor.
