“Great hotel”
Reviewed 12 March 2012

This is a great hotel, with wonderful service. I chose it over another hotel a few blocks away, and have no regrets. I would highly recommend the Magnolia and will stay there again if I am ever in Denver or another city where they are located.

The rooms are large, comfortable, and very clean. The location is great--within walking distance of great restaurants, shopping, and attractions. The rooms have great windows so we had a fantastic view of part of the city and could people watch the short time we spent in the room.

The hotel offers three services throughout the day that are particularly nice: breakfast, evening reception/happy hour, and evening milk and cookies. The breakfast is very nice, with a nice buffet of hot dishes as well as cereal and bread/bagel options. The evening reception offers free wine and beer and discounted appetizers, which are really wonderful and good value. The milk and cookies are good, too, and they have 3 flavors of milk. Coffee and a selection of tea is available throughout the day.

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel had water problems while we were there, and staff worked hard to resolve the issue (which was caused by work being done by the city), and compensated us for the night that we had to deal with the cold showers. Also, the valet service is great, and a good price compared to other parking options in the area.

The only downsides were the internet was very slow and completely unusable at times. Hopefully, this is something that is not normal or that they are working on. Otherwise, the lighting in the bathroom could have been better but that was not a big deal at all. The only other problem I had was sleeping because we were downtown and there is traffic all night. If you are a light sleeper, I would recommend trying to get a higher room so that the noise is not so bad. Otherwise, bring earplugs. But this is a great hotel, so you should definitely stay here!

Room Tip: Higher floors are probably better with less street noise and better views,, but I'm sure any of...

The staff was fantastic, from the valet to the concierge. Everyone was friendly and helpful. Our room was beautiful and extremely comfortable. The complimentary breakfast in the morning was great and much more than the usual bagel and coffee. You will not regret staying at this hotel and ask for Erin if you need the concierge services, she went above and beyond any expectations we had.

Room Tip: We stayed in the king suite with a fireplace and small kitchen area which and our friends were in a...

With staff that cares, and does everything but tuck you in at night this is the place to be.
The milk and cookies are such a pleasant touch.

WE had a great stay- location is fantastic, staff super friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms were perfect - not huge but very comfortable for 2. Concierge booked us dinners at amazing restaurants both nights which were exactly what we had described as wanting. Gym is great and steam room was a perfect touch. Would definitely stay again, no question! Also had happy hour with very generous pours...

We stayed at Magnolia hotel for a couple of nights. The location is great, right in the heart of denver downtown.

There was a mix-up with our reservation. When we booked through hotels.com, we were told that our room would be on 6th floor or higher. We wanted a room on the higher floor to avoid the road noise. We were told at the front desk that the third floor was the highest floor on which the kind of room that we reserved was available. They blamed the confusion on hotels.com. We were offered an upgrade to the fireplace suite (on the 9th floor) for 20$ per night. We took up their offer.

The fireplace suite was huge. It was like a spacious one bedroom apartment. The inside of the room was good but we thought that the corridor looked old and was a bit smelly as well.

We were celebrating my wife's birthday during our stay. I had requested the concierge for a wine bottle and cupcakes to be brought to the room at midnight. They were brought up to our room right at midnight, which I appreciated.

On the morning of our checkout, there was no hot water for the entire hotel. It was not restored till we checked out. Also, on that morning, we requested for some additional towels, which were not brought up to our room till a couple of hours after we requested them.

When we checked out, the front desk was very apologetic about the hot water issue/towels issues and they credited us for one night and removed all the upgrade/amenities fees. This was nice of them and we appreciated this gesture but we felt that it would be nice if they had a better contingency plan for things like boiler failure etc.

I can't say enough good things about the Magnolia: 1. Close proximity to the convention center. 2. Breakfast buffet was quite good and included more than the standard cold cereal and sweet roll. 3. Staff- always helpful and nice. 4. Clean. 5. Cost- you can't beat it. I really have nothing negative to say about my experience at the Magnolia

Great hotel, amazing service, self parking, AND great perks (free breakfast and evening drinks!). I am a loyal customer. I stay at the Houston location and Dallas one as well. The customer service is great, the rooms are clean and awesome, and you cannot beat the location. Definitely the place to stay when looking for an affordable, central location in Denver.
