The Grand Hyatt has a very contemporary look in the lobby and the rooms. The standard room is fairly spacious and nicely furnished. One feature not seen elsewhere is motion-sensitive footlights in the bedroom and bathroom, so if you get up in the dark these lights come on and reduce the risk of injury. The shower was very nice and the room was clean. Check-in and check-out was fast and efficient. The hotel charges extra for car parking ($33/day) and for WiFi ($10/day). The hotel is a good 30-40 mins drive from the Denver airport, and can be an hour or even more in traffic. There is a shuttle service (not run by Hyatt) that costs $22 per passenger, which is $44 for a couple. However the shuttle stops at other hotels and it can take an hour or more to make the trip to the airport. A taxi will get you there in 30-40 mins at a cost of $55.

Room Tip: Away from elevators

My friend and I stayed at the Grand Hyatt for 3 days in June and overall had a very good experience. The room service staff were awesome, since our fridge in the room didnt work very well keeping our beer/water cold, so rang room service and they were there in about 5 minutes and soon brought us a better fridge that worked perfect.. The only reason I didnt give the Grand Hyatt 5 stars, is the housekeeping staff would knock on the door at 745am one day and 8am the next... Please isnt that a bit early even one day with a do not disturb sign on the door.. But overall very good hotel

Hotel was ideal for me.....could walk to almost everything that interested me.....and public transportation for all other locations. The staff were exceptional in providing directions to someone who can't follow directions.

After the second sleepless night, I realized I was having an allergic reaction to bedding. [I thought it was a cold.] The concierge arranged for entirely new and different bedding in a matter of minutes. As a solo traveler, hotel seemed security conscious enough.

My plan was to seen Denver Art Museum, fabulous Chihuly exhibit at Botanic Garden.....and just walk all over town.

Room Tip: Eighth floor room was fine...view was acceptable. Don't know which direction room was facing...

We stayed 4 nights at the Grand Hyatt as part of a sightseeing trip to Denver and the surrounding areas in July of 2014. Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel and would happily stay there again if we were in the area.

We arrived around noon and decided to see if we could check in early. The staff at the front desk was able to offer us a 2 queen room immediately (we had originally reserved a king) or hold our luggage and have us come back later for our king. Since we wanted to get on to our trip, we opted for the ready room. The room was very large with 2 actual-sized queen beds, desk, dresser, and easy chair and side table. The closet was one of the largest I've seen in a hotel room. It was more than enough room for the 2 of us, and probably would have fit 4 people without a problem. A couple of other nice features to the room were the refrigerator and the motion-activated night lights next to the bed and in the bathroom. The one next to the bed could get a bit bright and light sleepers might want to block it off. The bed and pillows were quite comfortable, and we noted that guests can request foam pillows if the ones in the room don't pass muster. The bathroom was decent-sized and the provided toiletries were more than adequate. They even leave you toothpaste, which isn't something I've previously seen. The water pressure in the shower could be a little higher, but everyone's using low-flow heads these days. Other than a few signs of wear in the tub and in the bathroom area, the room was spotless, and housekeeping kept it that way throughout our stay.

The hotel's location was ideal for our purposes. We drove in from the airport and easily found it in the heart of downtown. You're a 5 minute walk from the 16th St. Mall (with its free shuttle buses), there are several bus and light rail stops nearby, and you're less than a 15 minute walk from Larimer Square, the ballpark area, and plenty of the restaurants and breweries that Denver is known for.

The hotel seemed to have some nice amenities, although we were barely around and didn't get to check them out too much. It had a nice-looking fitness center, with rooftop running track and tennis courts as an added bonus. We did eat breakfast at Pub 17 on 3 occasions, ordering off the menu once and getting variations of the buffet twice. The food was always solid, although service was a bit slow. There was also a lobby bar and restaurant toward the top that we didn't check out. There is also a Starbucks located across from the valet drop.

The staff were universally friendly and helpful, and seemed genuinely interested in your stay. Beau in Pub 17 offered a litany of dining suggestions when we simply had stopped down to see how late the bar was open. We took his advice on a few of them and were never disappointed. Anytime we'd return to the valet, there was someone from management there to welcome us back, ask about our day, and offer suggestions for the evening if they were needed. When we called down to request a humidifier for the room around 11 at night, it was up within 5 minutes.

There were a few minor inconveniences in our stay, although they don't diminish my memory of my stay or my impression of the hotel. First was parking. $33 per night seemed a little steep to me to begin with, and our car wasn't ready on 2 occasions despite our having called down 15 minutes earlier for it. Fortunately, we had left plenty of time to get where we were going and it was retrieved quickly once we came down, but this could be a problem for someone in a hurry. Secondly, housekeeping was a little uneven on replenishing some of the supplies in the room (no refill on the coffee packs one day, 2 conditioners and no shampoo another), but we simply called down to get what we needed. Finally, service in Pub 17 for breakfast was a little on the slow end, especially on Sunday morning when we had to check out and get back to the airport. All 3 times we ate there, there were only a handful of people in the restaurant, and breakfast took close to an hour each time.

Despite the odd hiccup here and there, we had a great stay at the Grand Hyatt and were impressed with the hotel. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone, and I would happily stay there again if I were to go back to Denver.

My husband and I came to Denver to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and stayed at the Grand Hyatt. It is an impressive hotel, very beautiful lobby, and extremely nice customer service. We were very close to the 16th Street Mall, and walked here often. We came to see 2 Rockies games, visit Golden and see a concert in Englewood and used the RTD for all of our travel. This hotel is very close to the RTD stations and we had no trouble navigating where we needed to go.

The room was very spacious and the bed was SUPER comfortable. The bathroom was nice, and we liked how the lights were motion censored so that when we got up in the middle of the night, we had lights!

We enjoyed using the gym, and was impressed with how clean the gym was. They even had cold wash cloths available and free earphones to use, which was helpful because I had accidentally left my headphones at home. The indoor pool was small, but very nice and relaxing. The views from the gym were amazing, and my husband loved sitting out on the deck. and drink his coffee. They had an outdoor track that we could have used but it was so hot that we decided to run on the treadmills inside.

Very fun stay, I love Denver and we will definitely stay here again.

We were guests at this hotel in December, and it is just a great resource for downtown activities, from shopping, museum hopping, and great restaurants in Lodo. The hotel was decorated for Christmas, and they have a wonderful breakfast buffet that was included with our stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room facing the mountains.

Decidedly nice and well maintained rooms complement this hotel as well as solid quality dining experiences, but the efficiency and high level of employee service are what make the hotel and establish its worthiness of baring the Grand Hyatt name.
