The hotel staff was among the best staff I have encountered my travels. I was first put in a room that I was not happy with because of location. They were quick to find me a room more suitable and within a very short period of time during a very busy time. From that point on I didn't have any problems. Everyone from the front desk to the bellmen to the restaurant staff were excellent. I found the rooms to be well maintained and very comfortable. The work out area could be bigger however the track and pool make up for it. Bar area is a great place to meet up with friends.

Room Tip: Rooms around ice and elevators can be noisy

We enjoyed our stay here. Great location, nice staff, good food, nice room. I would strongly encourage management to reconsider their idea that everyone can be a concierge. When I travel I expect their to be an expert on the cities top restaurants and sites. They know this because they participate in concierge programs that expose them to these hot spots. The recommendations we received from the front desk staff were very disappointing. It was obvious they had never been there. Bad food, dirty atmosphere, nothing but casinos. . . Finally a valet made an outstanding recommendation. The biggest disappointment was being sent to a town that had nothing but casinos and we don't really gamble. I came to see mountains. . .
Also the automatic hvac system doesn't work well for those that need air circulating. We ask for it to be looked at because the temp never really changed. If they did there was no response on it.

Green Features: I like them- nightlights, not using vacuums but lint rollers on carpet

Great location. Other then that the only good thing is the sensor lighting in the rooms.
The quality and upkeep of our room was poor. Shower curtain was being held together with safety pins, large patches of ceiling were coming off, overall it has a need for improvements. Parking... 33.00 PER DAY! Beware as there is not a cheaper option for parking at this hotel.

The room was large, clean, comfortable, and from the 23rd floor we had an amazing view. There were small bonuses like a lit makeup mirror and lights under the furniture. The hotel was wonderful and the location was even better. You're just a block away from shops, restaurants, and tons of beer on tap.

Room Tip: Try to get a high floor on the west side. If you're on the east side, keep your curtains pulled...

To be clear at the outset, there are two Hyatt hotels in downtown Denver. I'm writing about the Grand Hyatt on Welton Street and not about the one at the convention center. Upon arriving, the desk clerk was apologetic that a request for early check-in (two hours earlier than normal) could not be accommodated. My guest and I checked our bags with the concierge and used the time to familiarize ourselves with the neighborhood. Located just one block from the 16th street mall (main shopping area)and serviced by a free continuously running shuttle bus, proved very useful during our week-long stay. Returning to the hotel after receiving a text that our room was ready, we found the accommodations comfortable, quiet and afforded us a view of the Rocky Mountains. The beds were extremely supportive and provided us a good night's rest. One slight complaint - it seems housekeeping saves cleaning rooms with existing patrons until late afternoon which might, for some travelers, conflict with their need to return to their room for a brief respite. In addition to the regular bar, the hotel opens a lobby bar with live music many evenings. With a faux fireplace and comfortable seating, this bar made for a nice relaxing environment after a day exploring the city and its environs. On several occasions during the week we had questions about the city and local attractions and the front desk staff were exceptionally helpful, not rushed and very friendly. For visitors needing a hotel in the business district, this Hyatt is perfect! Thanks to all the wonderful staff.

Room Tip: Request an upper floor with view of the mountains!

Green Features: The hotel seems environmentally aware and only replaced towels that needed to be laundered

Grand Hyatt is located in downtown Denver, away from high people traffic, but close enough to offices and in walking distance to shopping, dining and free public transportation. Just the right location for those on business and those looking to vacation. The room was very nice, well furnished, and great A/C. The bathroom was very nice with a huge walk-in shower. We were able to take advantage of the concierge amenities with a private dining area on our floor for free breakfast and afternoon snacks and drinks. The lobby staff was very friendly and helpful, as was the staff in the concierge area. The biggest fault I found with this property was the restaurant. The restaurant in the hotel was VERY outdated. Furniture was old, scuffed, mix-matched, and appeared dirty. Carpeting was even worse. The music (hip-hop) was playing so loud you could barely talk to anyone at your own table. Service was just okay, and it took forever to get our food even though there was only 2 other tables with guests. Food was average. Very disappointed. I suggest you bypass the restaurant and walk to the Yard House or Brown Palace for dinner or lunch. Price for room and parking are average for this area of Denver. Again, convenient for those doing business in downtown and for their travel companion who wants to travel or see the sights.

Room Tip: Concierge floors offer the best amenities (free Wi-Fi, free breakfast and afternoon snacks and drink...

We reserved this downtown Grand Hyatt at Denver for 2 nights. Since we arrived very early in the morning, our room was not ready. As it was our 40th anniversary, Kimberlie at the registration upgraded our room to a 24th floor corner room with an excellent view of the distant mountain. She also provided information about downtown restaurants and places to see. We had excellent food at their Pub17.
The room had light sensor to provide walking guidance to the bathrrom at night. The remote control for sheer and window shade was very helpful

Green Features: Followed environmentally friendly practices per Hyatt standard
