I've stayed at the Brown a number of times. The last two times, we stayed at the Top of the Brown, but have also stayed in their "budget" rooms, which are still very classy, though small. During our last stay, there was only one coffee cup in our room. We called down and within 5 minutes, someone was up with more coffee cups and a big handful of coffee selections. That's the kind of service I like. The hotel is old, elegant and yes, somewhat expensive for the eating establishments, etc. However, when you compare their prices to comparable hotels in other big cities, i.e. San Francisco, New York, Chicago, the Brown is still a bargain. If you want the free continental breakfast thing, stay at a Hampton. The Brown is a special experience. I will say that free internet access would be a nice thing, perhaps for repeat customers anyway. However, I have always loved staying here and will continue to come back. Just know that when you come here, you are coming for the "old historic hotel of bygone days" experience, not an airport business class experience.
