Spent another thanksgiving at the brown palace. The buffet at Ellyingtons is over the top with traditional thanksgiving feast and seafood, sushi, pork loin, prime rib, salads, cheeses and tons of desserts. It is cheaper betty than making dinner at home and so much better; especially with bottomless champagne option. We compement our brunch with a stay over. This time we opted for a room at the "top of the brown". Room was very large as eas bathroom. Had a separate dressing and make -up area & a keurig coffee maker. Only disappointment was a stale smoke odor in room that they tried to cover up with room spray. Staff are fabulous and treat you wonderfully.

Thank you for spending your Thanksgiving holiday with us!

We're delighted to read that your experience was enjoyable and that the extravagant buffet offered at Ellyngton's was a highlight of your stay. Many of our guests visit the hotel during the holiday season to savor the delicious culinary treats and take in the elegant ambience, which is a stress-free and memorable way to spend cherished time with family and friends.

I am very disappointed to learn, however, that there was a hint of a smoke aroma in your guest room, which is especially concerning as we are a smoke-free hotel. We appreciate your feedback in this regard and will ensure we are doing all our best to control and monitor these situations.

We got back yesterday from our stay at the Brown Palace and it was wonderful! We live in Colorado Springs and with my husband coming home from Afghanistan for 2 weeks, I wanted to find somewhere we could stay for a few days of luxury and pampering. The Brown Palace was absolutely the perfect choice.
We arrived at valet and were treated to friendly, welcoming smiles and great service. The doorman, upon hearing the reason for our visit, thanked my husband for his service and then arranged for a special treat to be sent to our room for later (a beautiful plate of fruit, cheeses and crackers, as well as wine and drinks). We were very touched by this gesture.
The hotel itself was beautiful and our room was amazing. We stayed in one of the Top of the Brown rooms (#842) which was quite spacious and had a large bathroom with a soaking tub and separate shower. The bed and pillows were very comfy and we were never disturbed by any noise from outside our room....we actually felt quite secluded.
We took advantage of many features unique to the Brown: we spent time in the Churchill lounge, where my husband indulged in his love of cigars and I enjoyed the Key Lime Martini; we ate dinner at the Ship Tavern - great ambiance and fabulous food; we indulged in the "Afternoon Tea" and found it to be one of our most memorable experiences; we spent time at the Spa and had a couples massage and pedicures - wonderful, relaxing time spent with my husband feeling so very pampered.
To anyone out there sitting on the fence, trying to decide where to stay - Go to The Brown, you won't regret it!
To the staff and management at The Brown Palace - My husband and I hadn't seen each other for 6 months prior to him coming home from Afghanistan for his 14 precious days of leave time...and when he goes back, it will be another 5 months till we're together again...Thank You so very much for giving us such a wonderful experience while we stayed there at the Brown. The memories we made will carry us through the coming months until he comes home again. We're already planning another trip for when he comes home! Thank you for making us feel so welcome...

I've stayed at the Brown a number of times. The last two times, we stayed at the Top of the Brown, but have also stayed in their "budget" rooms, which are still very classy, though small. During our last stay, there was only one coffee cup in our room. We called down and within 5 minutes, someone was up with more coffee cups and a big handful of coffee selections. That's the kind of service I like. The hotel is old, elegant and yes, somewhat expensive for the eating establishments, etc. However, when you compare their prices to comparable hotels in other big cities, i.e. San Francisco, New York, Chicago, the Brown is still a bargain. If you want the free continental breakfast thing, stay at a Hampton. The Brown is a special experience. I will say that free internet access would be a nice thing, perhaps for repeat customers anyway. However, I have always loved staying here and will continue to come back. Just know that when you come here, you are coming for the "old historic hotel of bygone days" experience, not an airport business class experience.

Room Tip: Spend a bit more and get the superior room - the space is worth it. The cheapest rooms are still ver...

My husband and I stayed at the Brown Palace for one night this past week. The hotel is lovely. The best characteristic about the Brown Palace is that it is not a cookie cutter hotel. Guess not since it was built in the late 1800's. Check in was easy. As we were members of the IPrefer program we were automatically upgraded to a beautiful corner rooom. The room was lovely, huge and had several windows. Bathroom was small but very nice and functional. I asked the concierge about getting directions to take the train shuttle that runs through downtown for dinner. He informed me that the hotel had a complimentary limo that ran between 6 and 10 each evening. Very nice touch. Would definitely return. Thanks Brown Palace for a wonderful stay.

Room Tip: Join the IPrefer program and you will be automatically upgraded based on availability and will recei...

We hope you both will come visit us again soon!

stayed 8 nights whilst at week long conference (Nov 2011). historic hotel with nice ambience. Staff provide excellent service, including free metro limo service for guests. Little things like pianist in the lobby every night and free wifi in lobby (charged if in room) also nice. Not all rooms the same size, was very happy with mine which had large bathroom (although water could be hotter!). would gladly stay here again and recommend.

The hotel is historic and well kempt. The stained glass ceiling is beautiful as well as the wrought iron railing and decorative details. The lobby area table and chairs (where afternoon tea is served) looked cheap compared to the grandeur of the hotel. It would be nice to see some marble top tables and antique chairs. I assumed the tea was complimentary for guests, but there is a charge of about $30 per person. The bed was comfortable and sheets were soft. The amenities in the room were modern and comfortable, but the bathroom was very small with a nice dual shower but no tub. On Fruday night the odors of the restaurant four floors below were making it up to our room. We turned on the ceiling fan and it seemed to dissipate a bit. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We are very pleased to know you had an enjoyable stay with us overall, and we are most grateful for your comments and suggestions. We are continously seeking ways to improve upon our existing products and services and the best tool to assist us is feedback from our guests, such as yourself.

We hope you will have an opportunity to return soon and perhaps enjoy our popular Afternoon Tea service, which you had referenced. Afternoon Tea is available daily from Noon to 4pm and pricing starts at $30 for homemade scones served with Devonshire Cream and preserves, finger sandwiches and a decadent selection of classic tea pastries.

As a Colorado native, born and raised in the Denver area, the Brown Palace hotel has always held an esteem of historical elegance and first class. It has always been a place that we've wanted to visit, but never thought it would be a reality. Well, thanks to a business trip, we finally had the opportunity to stay at this historic hotel. Wow, what a place. The service from the minute you drive up to the valet is second to none, the staff are extremely polite, friendly, and helpful, the lobby is dripping with history, the rooms are beautiful, clean and quiet. For a place that I learned about in school (20+ years ago), the experience was even better than I could have imagined. This is a must stay for any occasion whether its for business or leisure.
