Absolutely everyone at the hotel was very friendly and eager to help, from the people at the reception desk to the bell staff. (This meant a lot to us, because we don't often stay in hotels of this class, and were stretching our budget to do so.)

Our peak experience actually came after we'd checked out at 6:30 in the morning, then discovered at the Amtrak station that our train was delayed by at least four hours. The driver of the Oxford courtesy car had already told us that if our train was delayed we should call him, that he'd pick us up again and take us back to the hotel so we could hang out in the lobby until it was time to go back to the station.

When we got back to the hotel, the person at the reception desk virtually insisted that we have one of their vacant rooms to pass the time, rather than sit in the lobby!

This is was the kind of service that really made the stay a pleasure for us.

Dear Guest,

Thank you so much for your positive feedback. We have an amazing staff that truly "gets" customer service and will bend over backwards to ensure our guests are taken care of.
I remember meeting you in the lobby the day of your departure and it was a pleasure.
We look forward to having you back when your future travels take you Denver.

Sincerely,

The Oxford is an old, historic hotel in a fantastic Denver location. The hotel is close to just about everything downtown...or at least close to public transportation to get you to everything. Even with that, when I requested a minivan-sized cab for our group of 5, the front desk happily offered their Bellman/Driver & Suburban to take us to our destination...nice!

Sometimes with old, historic hotels you will find that the age and wear shows through, but not at the Oxford...everything felt brand-spankin-new while sill maintaining a feeling of historic charm. The antique furniture in the room, the rich upholstery and the old-fashioned metal key (yes, a real key!) are wonderful touches.

Service at the hotel was fantastic...very personalized, and again, old-fashioned. At 2:00 in the morning we called the desk to inquire about the ice machine location...we were told someone would be right up. Sure enough, within 2 minutes (not kidding!) the bellman was at our door smiling with a fresh bucket of ice.

So happy with our stay there, and even though I am a Denver local, I'm trying to figure out an occasion I can stay there again.

Room Tip: Deluxe rooms offer more space for relaxation.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying in a hotel with plenty of charm (especially nice paintings of the mountain countryside dotted throughout the hotel) and friendly staff.

The hotel is very well located for anyone looking to watch some baseball and find a good restaurant or pub in LoDo.

The hotel also has two PCs with complimentary internet access.

The Oxford is a beautiful and lovingly maintained historic property. The location can't be beat for any business downtown. It is within easy walking distance of shopping and excellent restaurants (the best was right across the street). A complimenary town car will take you anywhere within a 2-mile radius. I appreciated getting the tip from other TripAdvisor reviewers about the fee for parking. We did the math and realized that it was cheaper for us to take the airport shuttle and not use a car downtown, even if we had to take a cab once or twice. And it worked out great.

However, what makes the Oxford outstanding is the unparalleled service. Every single staff member we met seemed happy to serve us. There is good service and then there is cheerful good service - and we got cheerful excellent service. As just one example, the minibar from our room happened to be out for repair, and the staff promptly delivered a refrigerator to our room, since I had medication that needed to be kept cold.

I would highly recommend this property.

We chose the Oxford based on the proximity to the Amtrak Station. The hotel is beautiful. The staff were genuine and attentive. The gym was great. We did not have time to use the spa but would consider a service the next visit. The bar and restaurant were very good.

As soon as we walked into the Oxford, I knew we were going to love it. The hotel was immaculate, perfectly appointed, and just gorgeous. The staff were professional, friendly, and peppered in some humor which I always appreciate.

When we walked into the room, it felt like I'd gone back in time. It was perfect down to the last detail including the fixtures, flooring, fabrics, everything. It had lush, long robes and very nice toiletries too. I walked each floor of the hotel looking at all of the amazing antiques. There were two pieces I found that I would've loved to take home!

For convenience, they have a town car that will take you anywhere you want to go around downtown (2-mile radius) and they are one block from the 16th Street Mall free shuttle service.

The only negative was the $28 / day parking fee. It's cheaper to leave your car on the street overnight and get a $25 ticket than it is to park with the hotel (plus valet tip). That is not surprising for a downtown hotel, but still a bitter pill.
