To start with, the hotel was very convenient to the locations I was going to. There was free parking, and the staff were wonderful. The hotel is a bit older and looks it. There were a lot of repairs or fixes that needed doing. I felt there was not enough light in the halls. While there were some issues with the internet, the staff was very helpful and tried to overcome any problems that arose.

Was clean, the staff was friendly and accomodating. It's not a brand new hotel but we were very comfortable there and felt safe in the middle of the city. Was very close to many attractions. We will go back the next time in Denver.

The Ramada Denver is a tired beaten up hotel located in the seamy neighborhood of East Colfax, Denver. Maybe a long long time ago, it was a nice place to stay, but today it stands as a tired relic of the once respectable Ramada hotel chain.

On entrance, the hotel looks to be a sad patch work of abandoned and half finished repairs. Old carpeting, stale stagnate air, old furniture worthy of a used charity furniture store.

The business center boasts dated computers, the printer of which was in need of new toner, but neglected.

I was relegated to Room 105. Like the rest of the hotel, stale stagnate air filled the room. This would eventually be one factor in my miserable sleep. The bed pillows and sheets were old, worn out and beaten up. Pillows especially were flat.

Bathroom has no door. Fortunately I was along so that didn't matter, but it may for others traveling in more than one. The shower, because it was for handicapped persons, left me showering on my knees. Water temperature choices were scolding hot or ice cold. Shower mold was also evident, and a poor caulking job around the taps and tub.

Swimming pool and hot tub were out of service. I did not partake of any of the onsite dining offers, though not sure if any existed.

East Colfax is nice during the day. Many neat pubs, cool pizza and sandwich shops, and coffee shops. A number of useful liquor stores close by. At night... lets just say I walked downtown from the hotel during the day, but knew that was not an option at night. Vagrants, drunks, some prostitution. Keep the kids in the car.

But yeah, location is probably the best feature. I don't blame the workers for letting the hotel down. Receptionists, clerks, very nice. Even what appeared to be a teenage child of one of the workers doing homework in the computer was nice. The poor condition of the hotel clearly lies on the hands of management and perhaps the Ramada higher ups themselves.

If you want a place to simply crash at night and want something better than a park bench, the Ramada Denver Downtown is for you. This is not a hotel of 3 stars... 2 maybe 2 1/2 at the most.

You get what you pay for. For an extra $20, get a star up downtown.

Room Tip: Stay away from Room 105.

Denver was great. Our location in the city good. Our hotel stay wasn't. Clogged sink that was never fixed after notice to do so. Communications skills of desk staff were lacking and knowledge of local event logistics absent. Was advised to leave early AM on Sunday morning of Colfax marathon to get out of land locked parking lot before road closure. Was not correct and we got up early 4AM and checked out for nothing. Room also smelled like pet shop.

The rooms were clean, beds comfy, shower nice and hot. It is an older property so it was a tad loud, and the smell of marijuana was a bit overwhelming... When I booked this property, I called directly to ask if they had a pool and the answer was yes. However, upon arrival, we found out that despite the fact that there IS a pool on property, it wasn't actually open... So, if you call in January and ask the same question, change it up to "Is there a working pool on property?". Although we had a good laugh about this, it was also frustrating.
