I found the Ritz Carlton on Expedia and got a weekend deal, including Valet parking, for a little over $200pn. This is a bit more than we would normally spend for a family of four, but it was at the end of our holiday and I thought it would be nice to finish with a little luxury. I was slightly worried that we may feel out of place in this high end hotel, however, nothing could be further from the truth.

We arrived well before the check in time but this presented absolutely no problem, unlike some hotels we had visited during our holiday. We were welcomed courteously and were in our room within 10 minutes.

As expected, the facilities were good quality, spotlessly clean and very well presented. It is centrally located just a couple of blocks walk away from the 16th street mall where we found shops, restaurants and street entertainment. It was also possible to walk to the state capital building, the park and Molly Brown's house.

However, what sets this hotel head and shoulders above it's competitors is it's impressive customer service. Wherever we went we were met by members of staff who smiled, opened doors and were not only polite, but who went out of their way to make us feel at home and not like a paying guest. We weren't just given directions to the pool, when we looked a little lost, a staff member broke off from their job and took us there. They offered a turn down service, which we declined, but they still gave us the chocolates anyway - a nice touch, as were the ice cold bottles of water when we went out in the car. And we had some really interesting conversations with staff who spent time chatting as though we were the only guests in the hotel.

If I had a niggle it would be that the $12.95 per day wi fi service was only for one device. With 2 teenagers in tow this could have been expensive but as it turned out we were given a credit on our room which meant we didn't have to pay.

So far I would have given it 4.9 out of 5 but had to revise this when the staff went the extra mile to help out 13 year old daughter who announced on arrival at Denver airport that she had left her Harry Potter Journal in the room. A frantic call to the hotel and a lovely lady in housekeeping found the book, refused our offer to pay to have it shipped home, and fedexed it to the UK free of charge. The result, one very happy 13 year old and 2 relieved parents. So I couldn't give this hotel any less than a 100% recommendation. If I could go back again tomorrow, I would.

My wife and I spent one night at this property and were totally blown away with the service. We were floored when we checked in our room and their was a framed photo of our three dogs as well as two chocolate bars. The room was very clean and standard Ritz, but the service was above and beyond. In addition , casually chatted with GM of hotel in club lounge and it was just a really nice experience. Had dinner and breakfast at Elway's steakhouse and it was spectacular, the NY strip was the best I have ever had and went back for steak and eggs for breakfast, the server Jeff was also over the top !
We look forward to staying here again on our next visit.

Great hotel in downtown Denver. The rooms are great size and very nicely decorated. Everybody who worked there were very nice and helpful with everything we asked. Walking distance to coors field to watch a rockies game was main reason why we picked to stay here and I would stay hear again. It's pricey but you get what you pay for.

Got a room for our daughter's bday party with 4 BFFs. They wanted to experience dining and dancing in downtown Denver. The hotel is located close to all that. The girls could have walked to 16th Street Mall but it was raining. The hotel shuttle was available to take them. The staff was very courteous and accomodating. The girls felt like royalty. They had a blast!

Our room was quite nice, and larger than one generally expects from a city hotel. The shower was excellent. Even though our room was on a lower floor, we had a fairly expansive view, including a bit of Coors Field. Breakfast was good, and came complete with an Oscar-nominated movie star at the next table. A good choice in Denver.

the hotel itself is nice. i stayed in a one bedroom suite. the bathroom was nice and the room was nice. nothing super but what i expect from a 5-star.

what i was surprised at was the level of customer service. this was the best USA service i have ever encountered. i travel asia and get super service. i drop my 5-star expectations down to 3-stars for anywhere in the usa. but i was shocked to encounter some of the nicest and sincere employees ever. it was like i was in asia where they actually care about their job.

the manager should be commended for his excellence in hiring. club level, concierge, front desk, executive staff......i talked to all in my 4 nights. just an amazing group of people.

visited the gym which is part of a larger gym - not just a hotel gym. that was nice. saw the basketball player nene working out.

the club level was top-notch...but i think they could expand their food. it was presented perfectly but light on the offerings....also, soda needs to be cold.

ate at elways and it was great.

Went to Denver for a convention in late August. While group stayed in local boutique hotel I chose the Ritz to also celebrate the wife's birthday with a spa day. We have never been disappointed by a Ritz spa and was not again. Great amenities and I had a great massage, the wife had a fantastic spa day.

We stayed on the club level, the lounge was great and the staff was amazing. Our suite was superb, spacious, lots of natural light and comfortable. The King bed was very comfortable as was the sofa. The work desk was nice and faced the window (rather than a wall). The food was great in the lounge and in Elway's (try the rack of lamb). The workout facility was huge, three stories with a basketball ball court on one level, a pool on another.

Downtown Denver, by the convention center is a really cool place, everything you can want is within easy walking distance. Lots of nice restaurants, upscale, fast food and lots of places in the middle. The "mall" district was interesting.

Room Tip: We received an "accessible" suite, the only problem we had was with the shower. I would s...
