We had a great time at Circle K Ranch. It's absolutely beautiful here with plenty to do. The kids enjoyed floating down the river, which isn't very deep. However, it can get rough in places as there are lots of rocks. Our kids got scraped up a bit. I understand the river is higher earlier in the season (we went the first week of July). There is a great place for swimming below the bridge and right next to the first cabin. We all loved the horseback riding. The kids had fun on the ropes course, but were disappointed the zip-line is only for small children. We played volleyball, pool, and ping-pong. We had two families and rented two cabins, which were very nice. Although the kitchens are listed as "fully furnished," we found them lacking. One cabin was listed for six people but only had plates, cups, and utensils for four. There isn't a pan bigger than 4 quarts and I only had an 8" skillet to cook pancakes on which only allowed me to cook one big pancake at a time. If you want to do serious cooking, I would recommend taking what you need, especially if you will be cooking for a large group. (We were cooking meals for two families.) The kitchens did have a microwave, coffee maker, and toaster as well as oven and stove top and fridge. A few slotted serving spoons, a spatula, a couple small knives, small pots, small skillet, and some storage containers. If you need anything else, plan on bringing it yourself. Our cabin (Mountain View) has a carpeted loft with about a 2 1/2 foot clearance. This isn't listed in the description, but there's room up there to sleep a couple older kids on the floor or use as storage space for suitcases and such. Our cabin was lacking enough blankets, but when we asked for more we were given an abundance. Each cabin has a fire pit and picnic table and a couple of patio chairs. Close by is a camp ground with a little store where we were able to purchase some paper plates and ice cream cones! We discovered that 30 or so miles away is the beautiful town of Telluride which has a FREE gondola that we enjoyed riding to the top of the mountain to a beautiful little shopping/condo village. Way cool! It also has two waterfalls to see. The trip over the mountain to Telluride was breathtakingly beautiful and worth the trip all by itself. Between the ranch and our Telluride excursion, we had an absolutely fabulous time! Originally we only planned on going to Mesa Verde and found this on a fluke as a place to stay nearby. So glad we found it. Staying here was the best part of our whole trip!
