Exquisite service and peaceful surroundings made my Thanksgiving stay restful. Additional rewards was the hot springs, great food and the hiking. I recommend Dunton Springs to anyone that wants a reprieve from the stress, and hassle of work life.

Just returned from a 5 night stay at Dunton Hot Springs, and cannot wait to return there! Our very own log cabin was snug, cozy and entirely perfect, with excellent amenities, including lovely sheets, a snuggly down comforter and a bath with views to the river. Furniture and decor were charming and well-chosen.

The setting can be described as awesome mountain splendor! High snow covered peaks and meadows, green conifers and glowing apens surround this rustic ghost town. Night skies are filled with countless sparkling stars.

The natural hot springs, including one with a fireplace and an adjacent cold plunge, as well as an outdoor spring and one in a teepee became the centers of our daily outings. Equally enjoyable were the library (which has a terrific variety of reading material) and the saloon, where meals are eaten family style. A word about the food - truly wonderful! Very fresh and flavorful meals are served three times daily by the chef and staff. The wine selection is extensive and offers something for every taste and budget. The house wines are very good.

We enjoyed our stay enormously and will return at our first opportunity!

Let me start by saying I debated between weather to give this a four or five star rating. I chose four only because I do not think the dining was "five star". The food was very fresh and tasty but not overally creative or outstanding. Please read and find out why it was a hard decision...five star in so many other ways...

What a place! It is a bit hard to find since there aren't any signs along the way, but well worth the adventure once you get there!

This place is so unique from any place else we have ever stayed. A Ghost Town that offers hot springs, romantic cabins and scenery to die for. Staff is very accomodating and friendly. At first I thought our cabin , the Geysir, was a bit small, but we grew to love it. We kept our window open and woke up to the sound of the stream running by. It always felt cozy and warm. Loved the turn down service-even got chocolate our first night.

You can't help but relax in the tranquil setting. This place is almost magical...especially at night with lanterns lighting the paths, the moon light peeking through the teepee hot spring, and the view of stars from the bath house hot spring. You can't help but relax...

Don't worry about being bored. There is plenty to do from hiking, biking, picnics by the waterfall or seeing the wonder of Mesa Verde within an hour drive.

Music, candlelight , fires, a library with a bear skin rug , great cozy robes, and an authentic saloon with an excellent wine list. What more can you ask for in a Ghost Town...
