This is a great place to stay with our room being huge and more like an apartment. Like other reviewers we were a little nervous about getting in with no reception but it was very easy. No problem at all. Great location, lovely room, very clean with lots of facilities. The individual touches and details in each room (ours had an antique typewriter and hat boxes) made it very special. Highly recommended and one of the best places we stayed on our trip.

Room Tip: We stayed in Somebody and had no noise problems at all.

I was initially nervous about this place because of there being no on-site staff. In fact, initially, I wondered if it was some kind of scam. It is not. It is a lovely, nicely maintained facility with a fabulous location right smack on historic Main Street Durango.

Because there is no on-site staff or "front desk", instead you receive a code that can be used to open the doors. Once inside the building, your door keys will be in the door of your room.

We stayed two nights in the room called "Homebody". It is a fully equipped one bedroom apartment - a full kitchen with a counter/bar, living room with stereo and flat screen TV, dining area, a large area outside the bathroom and bedroom with a full length vanity and two sinks, a bedroom with a king size platform bed, and a bathtub/shower and commode in the bathroom.

I liked the funky style of the decorations - I didn't find them overpowering. The photos on the web site are very accurate.

It is not a Bed & Breakfast because with no on-site staff there is nobody to make breakfast. But, this place has the next best thing (or perhaps a better thing) - immediately across the street is the Durango Diner. This old style diner makes a fabulous breakfast and the staff and owners are simply wonderful.

There are two parking spaces out in the alley behind the building and the unit also had a parking pass good for parking at two city lots. We found a place in the lot just about a block and half away.

There are stairs to navigate if you come in from the front (Main street) so if you have heavy bags using the alley entrance avoids the stairs.

I suspect the comments about street noise may be accurate - the "Homebody" room, being near the back of the building was very quiet.

My only complaint (and I hope the owners see this and can respond) was that we noticed a low frequency noise/vibration. It kept me awake for a while but thankfully ended at about 11 PM. I suspect it is vibration generated by some piece of equipment elsewhere in the building that is transmitted throughout the structure - a motor, compressor, or similar. It did not seem to be coming from anyplace within the apartments.

The apartment had a strong WiFi signal.

We would definitely stay here again when returning to Durango.

Room Tip: There is some street noise near the front of the building so the apartments towards the back of the...

This is our second stay at this Inn and we still love it. If you love the convenience of the downtown Durango area you can not beat this place! We love to park our bikes in back and walk to coffee, dinner, breakfast, the train, you name it from this location. If you are a light sleeper they have other rooms in this Inn that are away from the downtown noise but for us the only room is the Somebody room. You can look right out your and see the downtown street hustle and bustle, which we love! This place has personality! It is super clean, has a quaint little kitchenette and roomy bathroom across the hall. Worried about the bathroom not being in the room? Don't be. The two times we have stayed here we haven't had a privacy issue at all. Love it! Love it! Love it!

Great hotel in a great location. We stayed in the Somebody room that has the bathroom across the hall. The bathroom across the hall was no big deal...we never saw anyone at the hotel so it felt like it was your own apartment. Great place and decor. There was some street noise from the bar across the street and we heard the train in the morning!

Nobody's Inn is without any doubt a ' one-of-a-kind'. Position on the Main Street in Durango is absolutely unbeatable. However, you need to like the style with lots of knick-knack, pillows, curtains, blankets etc.

Personally, I prefer my hotel rooms to be minimalistic in style which gives me an impression of being easy to clean and maintain. I absolutely did not find anything that gave me an impression of a dirty room - just had a 'dark & dusty' feel about it.

You need to like the style .....

Stayed 1 night in the somebody room. We wished we had stayed another night. It was so great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The bathroom is across the hall but was not at all an issue. Both the room and bathroom are very roomy. The room has the best view. 3 huge floor to ceiling windows that overlook the bustling main street. We couldn't have been more pleased with our accommodations. The location is in the middle of everything and you can also walk to just about everything. We were also lucky enough to be able to check in early and get a spot at the back of the building. Loved it!!!

I fell in love with this place over the website, booked the Somebody room, then immediately suffered buyer’s remorse. There are so few reviews! What if it’s too loud? What if the security code doesn’t work, or the key’s missing? Oh noes! Fortunately, another happy review was published and the owner promptly answered my emails, so by the time we arrived I felt better, enough to ignore the rather depressing alley behind the building and dim back entry.

And I was so happy we stuck with this place – it was wonderful!

There are recycling bins and bags at that entry for, well, whatever – cans, bottles, books, magazines. Then there’s the little hallway, stylishly decorated with thoughtful automatic footlights over an uneven step. A delightful desk and old hotel mail unit in the landing. And then our room.

We loved it at first sight. There’s a small entry with coatrack, then a big, bright room with high ceilings and two ceiling fans. (There’s also a/c.) The kitchenette is small (similar to units in east coast studio apartments) but practical, with two burners, a small fridge, toaster oven, kettle, coffeemaker, utensils etc – everything you need for a short stay. The décor has changed from the website, keeping the same basic style – retro-country-handmade-chic, just whimsical enough to be individual but not twee.

They’ve swapped the futon for a queen sleeper sofa, which I used. Eh, it’s about as comfortable as a sleeper sofa ever is. I slept fine.

The private bath was across the hall, and needed the same room key, so don’t worry about anyone else getting in. It was also maddeningly adorable - maddening because why doesn’t my little bathroom at home look this cute? Hot water was immediate, pressure was good. The towels were big and fluffy and I should have noted the brand.

Yes, the Somebody room is loud – there are two bars (one at each end of the street) that don’t ever stop, but there are earplugs in the room if you need them. That’s the downside of being on the main street. The upside is we walked everywhere – down to the train (5-10 minutes), to a restaurant one night, out for shopping, out for ice cream. If we hadn’t brought supplies, we could have walked to a grocery store.

So it was just about a perfect stay. Even the best hotel rooms can’t escape that all-the-same feeling. But just thinking about Nobody’s Inn makes me smile.

Room Tip: They're all gorgeous! Somebody is loud, but we still loved it.
