We were pleasantly surprised at the quality and creative sushi and Maki Rolls at the Sushitarian restaurant in Durango. The restaurant is small but we were seated immediately by a very attentive waitress. She explained that since it was Sunday, all of the sushi and rolls were less than $5 as were select glasses of wine (I believe there were beer specials as well). The wine list was limited but there were many types of sushi and rolls to choose from. By the end of the evening, I believe we had sampled most of them and we enjoyed every one. This seems to be a hip hangout for the younger crowd but we felt we fit in even though we are old enough to be their parents, even grandparents! We will be back the next time we are in Durango! Recommended!

My husband and I go to Durango, CO at least once a year and this is one of our favorite restaurants we visit while there. The sushi is great for a vegetarian because they have the most selection we have found at any Japanese restaurant. Also, their tea is superb and their soups as well. The ambiance is casual but pleasant. I highly recommend this place to anyone who likes good sushi!

If you like Tempura, you'll be happy here. Tempura shrimp, tempura veggies and yummy tempura cheesecake along with sushi, teriyaki and panko crust offerings are all on the menu. You should find something delecious to please the whole family.

Fresh. Delicious. Creative. Reasonably priced. Good, helpful service. We were there for dinner and took advantage of the Happy Hour specials, with miso soup and a creamy, decadent tofu dessert.

In these days of FedEx I rarely worry about the freshness of the fish in a sushi bar. At the Sushitarian the fish was fresh and incredible. That evening's special was salmon belly sushi that melted in the mouth and somehow their fish buyer is able to acquire fresh scallops! My only regret was not showing up later, can't wait to see the place once the sake and beer starts flowing.
