We always really enjoy downtown Durango..Friendly people with many nice shops and restaurants. We stop here every year on our way back north from AZ. Lovely scenery and if your there after the snow is gone make sure you take the train up to Silverton.

Durango is a resort town that still has a hometown feel. Just talk to any shopkeeper, and the positive vibe is downright contagious. This is a great place to wander, eat well, and not feel like you are spending too much in the process. Heck, you can get a darn good t-shirt for less than $15!

Charming town to walk through with nice, nice shops for all budgets. Many nice restaurants to choose from! Check out the Diamond Belle Saloon in the Strater Hotel and eat at Steamworks! The depot is right downtown too. Shared Blanket for jewelry--fair prices!!

Even as a resident I love walking along Main and 2nd Avenues, enjoying the shops and restaurants. 3rd Ave is a gorgeous boulevard of turn of the 20th century Victorian homes, wonderfully shaded by a canopy of old trees.
