“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 September 2008

The Leland House hotel is a good place to use as a base for visiting the surrounding areas.

Check in was quick and the hotel had a record of the deposit we had already paid. Parking was free and in a secure area behind the hotel.

We were in room number 5 and it was small with an even smaller bathroom. However, this didn't detract from the charm of the hotel. Being an old building though, it does creak and you can clearly hear guests in other rooms too.

The high point of each day was the breakfast. Fresh fruit and home made pastries were complemented by a different hot entree each day (always egg based).

Overall a good place to stay in Durnago.

My family of four stayed for two nights in August as part of our 4 corners vacation. This was by far the nicest place we stayed. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful with getting into the room, and with dining suggestions. The room (a Queen Suite) was nicely furnished with quality linens and a comfortable bed. The hot breakfast was outstanding.

All of the previous reviews are right on the money and that is why we decided to try this B&B. Our expectations we exceeded! The staff and owners are what made our trip and stay so enjoyable...Well, Durango itself was very enjoyable also, but the staff at this B&B exceeded our expectations. We will stay there again!

I travel to durango often for business but this was the first time I stayed here. First off, the staff were very friendly and really professional; not the usual 19 year olds I usually have to deal with. The hotel has free wifi and plenty of places to use it. With the Hotel one block off main, it was quiet and there was a perfect work table in my room allowing me to get tons of work done. Before I started my day, I ate some of their famous homemade granola and a delicious herb and feta scramble. The kitchen staff even gave me some scones to go! Next time I hope I can bring my family and use their cruiser bicycles or sit in their courtyard and enjoy those "to die for" cookies.

Carley, a young lady at the B&B went above & beyond to help us plan one of the best adventures we have experienced in a long time.
Loved the Leland House, everything you expect of a B&B plus a special feeling of home that can only be contributed to people who truly care.

We just returned from our family vacation to New Mexico and Colorado. While in Durango we stayed for two nights at the Leland House.

Upon our arrival we were met warmly by the staff. Our room was a suite (bedroom, kitchen and living room - with sofa bed for our children). What a quaint home and suite. It reminded my wife and I of our first apartment.

The house is a mere 2 blocks from the train station and 1 block from the main street of historic Durango. During this time of year, the weather is wet during the late afternoon/evenings but we found no issue since we were so close to all the activities.

You have got to try the Mediterranean Cafe located next door. Excellent food, wine and service. Plus they have live music in the evenings.

As for the breakfast at the Rochester Hotel (across the street), it was fantastic. The service, food and atmosphere were outstanding.

We would stay here again in the future and would recommend to our closest friends.

This is a wonderful central location. It is a quaint small B and B which, in conjunction with the Rochester Hotel across the street, serves a wonderful breakfast and has delicious cookies and iced tea in the afternoon. It is easy walking distance to most tourist attractions in Durango. They offer free parking, which is a plus there. The garden of the Rochester Hotel is a delightful place to relax in the afternoon.
