This is a great treat that I always attend when there between May and September. Food is great and the performance is spectacular. Love these guys and they do a Christmas concert in December that is wonderful. Was fortunate to have two of the Bar D guys sing & play at a memorial service for a life long (95 years) family member.

The cowboy show is excellent and fun. The setting is great. The food is so so, but there is a lot of it. Go and enjoy.

“Classic Durango”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 October 2013

If you happen to be visiting Durango in the summer, you need to bring your family to the Bar D. There are very few places in the US where you can go enjoy a classic piece of Americana, essentially unchanged from the 1950/60s. This is one of those places. Still under original ownership, a traditional chuckwagon style western dinner and show. Families with very young children are made to feel welcome as staff assists children through the chuckwagon line, however the show does end rather late, so those little ones usually end up sleeping on mom/dad's lap which can be somewhat difficult. Top notch musical talent, good food. Remember to bring your own baked potato fixings if you want anything aside from butter. Kids adore the little train. Kid snacks available for purchase, and a nice kid playground to enjoy while waiting for the show. Try to arrive as early as possible to obtain an assigned table nearest the stage. Wear layers and bring a jacket.

“Fun for all”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 October 2013

We have taken several family groups to this outdoor dinner and entertainment spot. There is shopping, a little train ride and freedom for the kids to run off some energy. The music is very good and the guys make fun of each other. The best news is that the food is very good and they are very generous with portion sizes. They have served many dinners through their chow line so they know how to get you through in a hurry, but if you select coffee as your drink...run to your table as it comes in a tin cup!!

“The Perfect Way to End a Day!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 September 2013

Durango is known for it's train, it's natural beauty and the Bar-D Wranglers! Whether this is a first trip or one of many, this is a place not to be missed. We have been enjoying the Bar-D Chuckwagon Supper Show since the summer of 2000! Any summer we make it to Durango, we go and our kids (now all teens and adults) wouldn't dream of missing it. The setting, tall Ponderosa Pines with a backdrop of red cliffs starts your experience off on a grand scale. While waiting for the show, you can wonder through little shops or head over to the chapel for some history, or just enjoy the setting and breathe in all that fresh mountain air. The dinner is always delicious and served with precision to make the meal time a relaxed time to socialize. The show is unbelievably good. You can't help but be impressed with the musical talents and the humorous fun the Wranglers bring to the stage. We also love how they recognize all our verterans and finish every show with a patriotic song (audience participation encouraged). If you can appreciate the simpler life or want to discover it, head to the Bar-D. The show goes on rain or shine thanks to a very cool rolling roof (there if needed, or open air if not). You'll have a great time. TIPS: arrive early because seating is assigned in the order people arrive (early birds closest to the stage). It can get cool once the sun is down, so bring a jacket if you get cold easily.
