Wow this place is one of a kind. We read the great reviews, and decided to visit while vacationing in Durango. A few things: You MUST make a reservation. You can call or go online to do this. Arrive early to get seated closer to the stage area. We got there at 5:15 and there were at least 75 people in line already. One lady said she got in line at 1 PM! (That's not necessary, by the way). There are several little shops for shopping, there's a chocolate shop as well. These are good to pass the time until the dinner bell rings. There is also a play ground with old metal toys (merry go round, slide, swings, etc). My 8 and 5 year old loved it. The food is delicious, and they really do get through the line pretty fast. The portions were a good size, and they offered seconds after everyone went through the line once. They serve coffee, water, and homemade lemonade. We enjoyed all three.
The show was a treat! The music was fun, the kids and adults enjoyed it. There is something to be said about listening to old American cowboy tunes underneath the stars. The musicians were so talented, and played Marty Robbins tunes to old trail tunes. It was an awesome experience!
