Description: Eat, Drink & Have Fun With Us at the Highway 3 Roadhouse & Oyster Bar. The Highway 3 Roadhouse & Oyster Bar is known as a local's hangout after work on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday-the only days we're open. When you come and visit, you are sure to experience some of the best Cajun, Creole and Southern food with recipes straight from Louisiana. Buried back off Highway 3 in Durango, you have to know that you are looking for us to find us. While we are considered a local's secret, we do let outsiders in. Why would anyone go to such trouble to get here? Maybe the answer is in some of our reviews. Here's what a reviewer from Arizona posted on TripAdvisor: "Worth the wait! The food is fresh and wonderful .. service is great, and atmosphere is friendly. Only open 3 days a week, but well worth a dinner here! Oysters are fresh ( try the fried ones ! ), and blackened catfish is awesome. Just love an evening out here and the menu is always changing, so the specials are fresh and fun .. LOVE this place!" From the foregoing, you know that we have a Cajun/Creole/Southern based menu with oysters and catfish. We bet you will also like our etouffee, soft shell crabs, crawfish and awesome mac & cheese. Be sure to save room at the end for one of our sweets such as the bread puddin' with whisky sauce. Take a look at our menu to see everything but the specials. You can catch those on our Facebook page where they are normally posted on Wednesday mornings. We look forward to meeting you!

“Oysters!”

The Roadhouse is a great place to sit outside and eat a bit of food that reminds me of the south. Chuck is a great guy and his staff is friendly and easy. Outdoor seating makes the Roadhouse a plus.

“A trip to New Orleans”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 March 2014

Oysters, Oysters, Oysters and all things Louisiana right in Durango Colorado. As soon as you enter their parking lot you know you have found the real South. The staff is very welcoming and they make you feel like a regular even on your first visit. The food has the true bayou flavor and the cocktail list is first rate. Settle in for a dozen oysters and a Hurricane for starters, and the decor takes you to French Quarter. All of the menu items are first rate and they bring you back time and time again. So save yourself a trip to New Orleans and try Highway 3, truly a New Orleans adventure right in Durango. Let the good times roll !

“Excellent, southern menu at Hiway 3 Roadhouse.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 February 2014

Our local to Durango friends invited us for dinner at Hiway 3 Roadhouse last summer for a pig roast. Everything was delicious. I didn't pay too much attention to the service as we were busy visiting but no complaints either way. Beer and food were excellent.
On a more recent visit to Durango, we returned for an early dinner on a Friday. With few tables occupied our server was very attentive and brought our meals out promptly. She was very familiar with the menu and made recommendations. We had blackened catfish and soft shell crabs in butter sauce - landlocked not a problem. I recommend. the location is kind of hidden behind an auto service shop so not that easy to locate.

“Good Cajun fare in an out-of-the-way location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 September 2013

I'm always on the lookout for fresh, tasty oysters on the half shell. They are not easy to find in the inland Southwest U.S. Chuck Norton's Roadhouse serves them up in Durango three evenings a week (Wednesday-Friday), along with a diverse menu of other delicious treats. Happy hour often includes raw oysters at a very reasonable price. The place is a little hard to find but worth the effort.

“Cajun surprise in Durango”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 May 2013

While visiting Durango, we went to dinner at the Highway 3 Roadhouse. What a great place. It was out of the way and only open Wednesday through Friday It is a local bar and was busy. The food is Cajun and was surprise to find in Durango. The oysters were very fresh and had a wonderful sweet taste. My husband ordered the fried catfish and he said it was great. My daughter and I ordered the shrimp ettouffe. It was very good. We had ordered drinks before dinner. They serve Hurricanes just like New Orleans. Their Bloodymarys were spicy and delicious. It was a beautiful evening and we chose to sit outdoors. Our server was prompt and friendly. If you are in Durgano and looking for something different, I highly recommend the Highway 3 Roadhouse.
