“Unusual but good”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 August 2014

It's not Tex Mex but then we didn't come to Colorado for our much loved Tex Mex Mexican food. We were told that this restaurant serves a New Mexico type of Mexican food. Having eaten a lot of Mexican food in New Mexico, I still found this food different. Perhaps it's a regional thing. The food, however, was excellent. Check it out.

“Average food if it was served warm or hot!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

This is a bit of a "hole in the wall" restaurant. The downstairs was very hot so we moved ourselves upstairs (the staff seemed not to care that we were uncomfortable) where it was more tolerable. The menu is pretty complete. Certainly more southwestern, New Mexico that Tex-Mex. It's tough to rate the food since it was served refrigerator cold (hot on the edges - cold in the center) - TWICE! Our experience leads us to believe that this is a restaurant that just doesn't care to do it well. Good margaritas, though.

“Our Favorite”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

We eat here all the time when we're in town. It's amazing. The food is terrific, the service is great and the prices are reasonable. Definitely try the carne adovada (spicy!) and the margaritas!

“A hidden gem with the best drink prices in town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 July 2014 via mobile

We stopped in here after dinner for a drink because we were staying close by at the Wyndham. They have $5 house margaritas all the time (which was the cheapest in town we saw). All the other margaritas around town were at least $7 and weren't as good as these. The others were just sour, no sweetness whatsoever. I love margaritas but not with just like juice like the others had. Gazpacho had flavored margaritas as well and we got chips, salsa and chili con queso (all homemade). We were really sad we had already eaten elsewhere and were leaving in the morning because we really wanted to try a full meal here because we enjoyed everything else.

“Super spicy New Mexican style food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

The food was fantastic. Spicy and plentiful. We couldn't finish it all because there was so much. Service was great. We got a free drink coupon from our hotel and used it for a margherita each. They were very tasty and hit the stop after being on the river all afternoon. We had a relaxing dinner and then strolled through town to walk off all the food. A previous reviewer said they had to pay extra for chips and salsa, but we didn't. It came with the dinner and believe me, the salsa is hot but good. We would highly recommend this place and go back again if in the area.
