I loved the sushi quality (I grew up in New York and see the difference between small rolls vs. good rolls); see/taste the difference in sushimi - plus the array of options for visual appreciation. We enjoy as well the variety for our non-sushi lover friends! I'm especially looking forward to having this next to Cafe 163 - two fav's next to each other and right in local area! I'm hoping tables get heat lamps to use soon...

The tempura appetizer was ok. We ordered a roll and tuna sashimi. The sashimi was fine, but the roll smelled awful. We also ordered sake that never was brought to the table. And it was all for over $100. Definitley not going back.

Fish was okay quality, but extremely pricey for the price and portion size. You should not pay $20 for six pieces of sashimi that are cut so thin, you can see through them (and are not fresh). Service was terrible. It started out fine, but they weren't that busy and it took them a while to seat us. Then no one came by to refill our tea. We finally grabbed someone and they acted like we asked them to move the world to refill it.

It didn't take too long to get our fish, be we planned on getting more. The waitress brought our roll first and said she'd be back with the sashimi, so to save her the trip, we asked for the menu too. She came back with the sashimi but without the menu and said that another waitress would get it for us. How hard would have it been for the waitress we asked to take ten extra steps and bring us the menu herself? And then the menu never came.

No one came by for a good 15 minutes, even with us making eye contact and hand signals with the staff. When we finally got someone to come over, we said we wanted to speak to a manager - no one went and got one. The waitress claimed they were busy but there were many open tables and I have been to busier restaurants where the service was much better. If they were that busy, they should have told us ahead of time, not when we started asking for a manager to address a complaint. The waitress tried to appease us with dessert. No, we don't want a carrot on a stick or a band aid to cover up terrible service and terrible portion sizes for what we paid. We should have been offered at least a partial refund on our bill. We paid no tip, but should have paid less than that.

There are probably better sushi places down the road in Vail that aren't that much more expensive and you might actually get a cut of fresh fish that isn't paper-thin (who can enjoy the texture of sashimi when it is 1/8 of an inch thick?). Or possibly you might get some service. Who knows, but best to try them rather than stop here.

This is one of my favorite spots to grab sushi that doesn't break the bank. It has a fun atmosphere, but when busy can be a little noisy.

Tasty and presented well. You're paying for the availability two hours from Denver. The place was full of locals on a Friday night.
