Had family in town and decided to stay with them at the Armstrong Hotel - so glad I did. The location is perfect and there was so much to choose from - jazz bar in the basement, deli/beer bar on the main level, chocolate cafe for dinner one night and everything in the great downtown area. You don't need a car once you get here - walk around downtown, borrow the hotel bikes or just sit and people watch. It was nice to stay somewhere that didn't have each room as an exact replica of the next. This is character at its best!

Room Tip: There was some noise our first night there - couldn't tell if it was inside the hotel or on the...

Spent two nights at the Armstrong. The hotel has been completely renovated and was done well! We stayed in room 322 and enjoyed the room quite a bit! The portable AC unit in the rooms is a bit noisy, and works hard to keep the room cool. It can be a bit distracting, but it's not terrible. The complimentary wifi is a nice touch and it works well, which is even better. Try the gym down the street - it's a short walk away, but well worth it! Parking is a challenge; they have a few spaces behind the building and then several more in a lot down the street. The front desk staff was nice and helpful with directions, etc.

The only downside was that our room wasn't cleaned. I brought it to the attention of the front desk and they mentioned the staff was gone for the day - 5pm on Saturday night. Fair enough - our room wasn't "dirty," per se. They did bring us towels, etc., though. I guess what was surprising about it all was that we saw the cleaning staff and told them we would be out of the room in 15-20min. Perhaps a simple oversight.

At the end of the day, the above did not take away from our experience. The location is perfect and you can't beat how nice the updates are.

Room Tip: Try for an interior room to avoid the noise from the road out front!

They rent bikes! A great way to enjoy Old Town.
A fun, quirky little hotel. Not perfect, but it's a boutique hotel, not the Four Seasons. Great coffee shop and deli on the ground floor. Nice staff, best location in Ft Collins. Reminds me a little of the Kennedy School hotel in Portland. Don't hesitate to book it. I've stayed at the Armstrong 3 times, and it has never disappointed.

I am in mid stay as I write this, but we really like this place. Great character in the old architecture, great location, nice room. We got a suite so we would have a pull out sofa and the rooms are terrific. Fresh ground coffee in the room, and nice touches which bump this place up. Highly recommend.

I liked the hotel overall. It was very convenient to walk wherever we needed to go. There was a good coffee shop next door and a deli that also served a good breakfast and micro brew. We stayed in three different rooms as we had to count on cancellations to extend our stay. Two of the rooms had modern decor and were not our favorites. The one we liked the best was on the front of the hotel on the third floor with more antique decor and a nice bathroom. By far the softest sheets ever!!! It's best to take the stairs to your room as the elevator is very slow! The staff was okay, they did accommodate us. The best one was the hotel cat "Oreo". I would stay there again, I have family in the area, it is very convenient and we enjoyed visiting with the locals.

Room Tip: Choose one overlooking the front on College St. on a higher floor. The interior rooms look directly...

I love boutique hotels, specially when they are as beautiful as this one.
The staff, (including Oreo the gray hotel cat) are warm and welcoming. It's in a super location, close to everything. The locals are super nice and helpful too. The bed was like a cloud and the decor is beautifully restored to its original 1920 Art Deco style. Love it!!! Want to do it again!

Rooms were cute. The rooms were a little noisy at night. Bathroom could of been cleaner. But staff was great and very helpful. Elevator was a little scary. The location was key really enjoyed being able to walk around downtown.
