While the motel was clean and well maintained, the check-in procedures were more than a little strange. First the receptionist asked me to sign a slip saying if there were any "illegal" activities in my room we would be asked to leave and would not get a refund. (As a senior citizen, I have traveled all over the country and have never been asked to sign such a thing.) While I paid for the room with points, the receptionist asked me to sign a $100 "incidental" charge slip to cover any "extra" costs. (This was the old style charge where the receptionist ran the card through an impression machine.) When I told her that we had a problem with this kind of machine transaction in the past and that we had a concerns about identity theft, she told me that I could get the slip back in the morning. However, at check-out, the day receptionist refused to return the slip saying that it would be kept "on file" in case there were any problems... for how long??? The receptionist said that they have had a lot of problems in the past and that they had a lot of "weird procedures!" I am surprised that any establishment would openly offend their customers. (If the management does not trust the customer, why should the customer trust the management?) The whole episode left me with a bad taste in my mouth; I would never recommend this motel to anyone.
