We stayed at Georgetown Mountain Inn for 5 nights on our first visit to CO. We were skiing Loveland and making visits to Ft. Collins area and up to WY. The location was perfect for our trip, right off I-70, but away from any traffic noise. The rooms could use some updating, which they are working on slowly. The 3 of us were comfortable in a clean room with 2 queen beds, which had a dorm size refg and microwave. Our teenage son was happy with the cable and free wi-fi provided. It's located about an hour drive from Denver Int'l airport, and a 15 min ride to Loveland ski resort, as long as you don't hit any traffic on I-70 due to weather. We rented skis right down the road at the local ski shop, Black Diamond Ski, where the owner was friendly and helpful as well. My husband was able to try a different pair of skies everyday. Great little town and a nice stay.

The people running this place are friendly, relaxed an welcoming. The location is great - convenient to I-70 yet tucked away from the noise and chaos.

This hotel just needs a little TLC to the structure and rooms and
it would be a great little mountain hideaway, perfect for ski weekends in the winter and hiking trips in the summer. Primarily, the rooms are ready for an update: new carpeting and paint, updated bathrooms, refreshed lighting.

This hotel is currently a good value option for young 20-something's. Families and older, more discerning adults may wish to look elsewhere if willing to pay more.

Actually, given the room configurations hotel policies, we aim to be family friendly.

We have an indoor heated pool and outdoor hot tub and both are open year round.
A rare feature for any hotel at our pricing from Idaho Springs to Dillon, Silverthorne,
and Frisco. Kiddows love it.

We have about 5-6 weeks in the Fall and again in the Spring where we slow down enough to
make major improvements. We tried to replace carpet last Fall, but all the installers we contacted
were swamped with work from the major flooding Colorado had just experienced.

As for room configurations, we have 32 rooms and one Suite. 11 rooms have the two
double bed and one single bed configuration. 9 have one king bed, 1 has one Queen bed.
The rest have two double beds or two queen beds - one of these rooms has a kitchenette and a queen bed and a double bed. The Suite is essentially a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen, Queen bed in the bedroom, day bed (two twin beds), and futon. 7 of the rooms were remodeled around 2002.

Current owners have had this hotel for about five years. Last year and this year have been the first years with enough revenue to make improvements. (Although we did install new boilers in
2011 for our hot water, baseboard heat and the shower and sink water.)

Last Summer we installed air conditioning in the rooms with the King beds and the one with the Queen bed.

Anyway, we have the agreement with a carpet installer to replace all of the carpet this April,

And, that's how it goes with an independently owned hotel.

Thank you for your time.

Dan

My 6-year-old and I had a great stay at the Georgetown Mountain Inn in-between lessons at Loveland Ski Area (which is between about 15 minutes and 45 minutes away depending upon traffic). We were pleasantly surprised to find that our room had a large dorm frig and a microwave - key for budget breakfasts, snacks and reheating the awesome pizza from the Alpine restaurant next door. There was a coin-op washer and dryer on the second floor, which we were psyched about, too - I thought I might have to go to Idaho Springs to find a laundromat. There was no coffee maker in the room, but coffee and hot water are provided all morning in the lobby. There were only two of us, but you could have slept five in our room - two double beds and one single. We only live an hour away from Georgetown (ok, make that 90 minutes+ depending on I-70 traffic), but with the price of the Georgetown Inn, it makes it worthwhile to stay there and avoid the morning ski commute. It turns it into a vacation rather than an exercise in endurance. Dan was stellar - he was super responsive to emails and contacted us by phone to let us know that a room had opened up when we wanted to stay an extra night. My son *loved* the pool and hot tub - aiming snow balls from the hot tub at the bird bath and rolling in snow before hopping back in the hot tub were definite highlights for him! Finally, there were plenty of people staying at the Inn who were going to ski areas on the other side of Eisenhower tunnel - mainly because it's less expensive than most accommodations on the Dillon side.

Room Tip: Ask for a family room (with three beds) to save money!

I am so glad we made your trip a good one and hope to see you again.

FYI - we do have a handful of coffee makers available upon request
to use in the rooms. This is in addition the coffee available in the lobby
from 7 AM to 10 PM.

I took a solo ski trip towards the end of January and spent 3 nights here. This place was exactly what I was looking for and perfectly met my expectations. The rooms were clean, and kept me warm despite temps dropping to below zero. There is free WiFi, and my room had a dorm room fridge and microwave. The manager (Dan) was super friendly.

There is a restaurant right in front of the hotel and if you get there before 6pm there are some great specials. (the food here was great!)

If you are looking for a luxury hotel, this may not be your best choice. But if you want a clean room in a great location - this place is an excellent value and is exactly what I was looking for. Next time I plan a ski trip out of Denver, this place will be at the top of my list for accommodations.

Yes, it is vintage 1970's but it rivals the amenities of any new budget hotel. The room was clean and warm.
We ordered pizza and salads for pick from the Alpine restaurant (in front of the motel) because it was too cold (-20) to take 3 kids out for food.
Coffee and donuts in the morning was a nice touch.
Will be back!

Thank you so much for taking the time to post such a nice review.
As I try to summarize, we work hard to proved a great experience for the
basic level hotel that we are.

This little place gets a bum rap. Rooms are big and spacious, well heated (if not too well heated: we slept with a window open) and the staff is excellent. The location and access is easy and the motel is 11 miles from Loveland. Definitely worth the money.
