“Glenwood Adventure Park”
Reviewed 31 July 2014

We had tickets to the Adventure Park included with our room package at Hotel Glenwood Springs. Taking out the cost of the room, that basically gave us day passes to the park for $35 instead of $49 per adult. We took the gondola up to the park from our hotel, which was a fun experience. There were a few rides that none of us would consider going on - like the Giant Canyon Swing (NO WAY!) or the Eagle Zip Line. Too scary for those of us afraid of heights. My 6 year old enjoyed the three kiddie rides and my son loved the alpine slide (just wish the line wasn't so terribly long). The cave tour was fun and a nice break from the heat. I wish I could remember the tour guide because I would highly recommend her. Caves are her passion and she knew everything about them! We saw two movies in the 4D theatre. Not great quality but again, a nice break from a hot afternoon. Unfortunately, lightning closed most rides by late afternoon, including the gondola ride down the mountain. Luckily we had seen it all by then (3 hours at the park, unless we wanted to do a second cave tour or ride some of the bigger rides more than once). We waited about 45 minutes for a bus to bring us down. I would recommend going first thing in the morning, before the afternoon storms roll in, and you can easily be done by lunch-time.

“Great caverns, but overpriced”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

The caverns themselves are great; our kids loved walking through the caverns, and they are a great relief on a hot day (55 degrees F in the caverns). The tour guides were good and it was neat to see all the different formations in the caverns. However, the prices charged for access to the park and caverns (not to mention all of the other attractions) was overpriced for me.

“Loads of fun.. Need better rain plan”
Reviewed 30 July 2014 via mobile

Positives first... Totally worth going just to ride the alpine slide... Wish we could have ridden it multiple times... AMAZING fun flying down the mountain on the alpine slide! Our kids loved it! The roller coaster at the top was also great... Thankfully we got to do those two things before the lightening started! The employees at the park were very nice and they obviously can't control the weather. We were offered tickets to return the next day, unfortunately we weren't able to use them because we were headed out of town. But it would have been fun to have a lot longer there! The tram ride up was fun but they really need a better plan to get people out of the park if it rains.... Started pouring and everyone was leaving because all the rides were closed, we had a huge line to wAit for the buses to go down the mountain. Tired/cold kids and tired parents everywhere...the tram sky lift is unable to run in bad weather) so lots of people stuck at top of 8,000 foot mountain. The buses arrive and people get on only to experience a white knuckle ride with sharp curves down the mountain on gravely roads... It was very frightening! I would defiantly go back but only unless there was NO chance of rain. Would NEVER want to put my family on that bus ride down again!!!
