Ami's Acres Camping
Reviewed 9 June 2013

We had reserved a three-night tent stay here, but when we arrived we discovered that the site is perched on a hillside right next to the (very noisy) freeway. We expressed our concern about noise to the owner and he told we would not find a quieter camp site in town. He even told us that he "practically owns" the other campground in town and it is just as noisy. I cannot sleep with a lot of traffic noise and so, although we felt bad canceling our reservation, we paid one night's fee and left. It turned out that the other campsite in town (The Hideout) is wonderful - in woods with a stream running through it and VERY quiet. I guess Ami's Acres can't help being where it is and if you are in an RV, then maybe the noise won't be as bothersome. However, I really resent being lied to. If you are looking for a good tent campground in Glenwood Springs, check out the Hideout - it's a fabulous place and much nicer than Ami's Acres.

This campground lies right at the base of the mountain, everything was maintained very well. We were greeted by a man working at the campground who was very friendly and knowledgeable. The sites were unique in design as you are partially up on a mountain, you overlook the mountain and the river. We will be back for sure next time we pass through Glenwood.

we arrived late and stayed in plot 52 next to the bathrooms. it was below freezing so we only did electric hookup. bathrooms were clean, views were nice, staff were helpfull and friendly on the phone and in person. also very cheap which is nice!

Room Tip: plot 52 was near the bathrooms but was a reverse in site for small RVs

We stayed here on our way to moab from Denver. Just looking for a place to crash. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Considerable amount of road noise though, but the trains added a special touch. Clean. Lots of hook-ups. Level. The kids enjoyed the woods nearby. Maybe I am not an RV'er, I just can't stand being 'nut to butt' with a bunch of other people. It served its purpose though and would recommend it.

Site was clean and level with full hookups. Pull-thrus were multi-leveled which gave each one some privacy. Lots of trees and a great view of the canyon. Close to everything. Trains run the canyon on the other side and still got a great nights sleep.
