“Family fun!”
Reviewed 14 March 2013 via mobile

The hotel was perfect for us. Price was great, indoor pool with slides were great too. Our kids (2,4,6) had so much fun in there after long ski days! The only reason I didn't give rooms a 5 is because it's not luxurious...but that's not what we needed! We had a blast! The free pizza/movie on 3rd night was very nice and remember to purchase tickets for hot springs etc at front desk :)

We stayed here for 4 nights recently. The hotel was clean and the staff was very helpful. The room was comfortable. The ski, swim, and stay deal was great if you wanted to go the the hot springs after a day of skiing. The breakfast was your typical continental style breakfast but served the purpose of keeping you fueled up until lunch on the slopes. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we would return.

I can't say how much we appreciated the staff at this hotel - five star treatment in a three star hotel. One staff member, Stephanie, could use some coaching in guest service etiquette.

The room we had was large, and overlooked the back hill. The rooms in the front have a better mountain views on floors 1 to 3, but overlook the freeway. Fourth floor rooms in the front have the view of mountains and blocked with an awning.

Breakfast was standard hotel fare - not good or bad. The make your own waffles were the best part, but only offered corn syrup fake maple syrup. This is a very convenient location for vacationing families, just blocks from everything "downtown" Glenwood Springs has to offer, and adjacent to the Adventure Park.

We decided to stay here because of the indoor pool but were very disappointed.

My one LARGE complaint is that the pool has so much chlorine in it that our eyes were stinging and my son and I had an asthma attack from this enclosed pool are that captures a lot of chlorine vapor. Avoid this hotel pool if you are sensitive to this toxic gas. I suggested that the management look into using salt, ozone or UV light to clean the water to avoid health problems proven to exist in chlorinated pools, especially those enclosed in a room without ventilation!

The last complaint is that the management uses Chinese soaps and room toiletries, listed as "Organic", but not certified organic. We had to purchase our own products to avoid these non-tested products to prove they are non-toxic.

Given all the reports of toxic goods coming out of China without being tested by the US Food and Drug Administration, we were leery of the junk shampoo, soap and creme rinse. We asked the management to please stock US, Canadian or European products since regulations for product safety exist in these countries. The labeling is microscopic on these "terra green" toiletries since they don't want you to observe that they are made in China.

Thanks for sharing our concerns with management if you choose to stay at this otherwise excellent establishment!

Room Tip: Adventure park and river park nearby are excellent choices for the kids, but the toxic chlorine pool...

We stayed over President's weekend in a Garden Level room. It was quite small and dated. It was clean and the service was great! Sounds like a suite is the way to go at this hotel. Our two boys loved the pool/waterpark. We bought discounted tickets to the Hot Springs and after 30 minutes, our boys wanted to go back to the hotel pool. We will come back in the summer and request a suite and enjoy all the summer activities in Glenwood Springs.

Thank you for taking the time to submit a review of Hotel Glenwood Springs. I am glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We are currently in the process of updating all of our guest rooms with fresh paint and a renewed feel. Yes, our Suites offer more square footage and perhaps next time you visit Glenwood Springs we can arrange that for you.
Our pool is a highpoint for many of our guests and I am glad your boys were able to make the most of it.
Again thank you for your review and have a wonderful, safe and prosperous 2013.
All My Best,

i was greeted by wonderfully pleasant front desk staff. great lobby for sitting and reading. Pet friendly (they cater to dogs). The room itself was basic. My 13 year old daughter found the beds extremely comfortable (I can't sleep well without my own sleep number bed, lol). the pool area is fantastic. And the location at the base of the gondola can't be beat.

We have wanted to stay at this hotel for a long time, but we never made it that far into the mountains. At the last minute we decided to head to Glenwood. Fortunately the hotel had a King suite room that had just opened up, and we were able to stay here. We have 3 kids and wanted to have a suite room.

The hotel is AMAZING for families! Room enough to spread out and not be right on top of each other. Yes, the carpets could use a good cleaning, but the important thing is that we had a fun time.

If you choose to stay for more than one night, I would recommend planning to eat breakfast out every other day. The breakfast offerings are very basic (cereal, bagels, yoghurt) and the room for breakfast is very tight.

if you have kids, the pool is worth any downsides of the hotel. My kids loved the slide, and the water was shallow enough through most of the pool for my non-swimmer.

Room Tip: king suites are worth every penny

My husband and I brought our kids and grand kids to Glenwood for 4 nights. The hotel was fantastic! Just what we were looking for. Our room was the suite that had a great kitchenette, fireplace, and living area for our family to gather. The kids loved the indoor waterpark pool, we were able to buy discounted tickets, at the front desk, for the Glenwod hot springs pool and for the Glenwood Springs Adventure Park. The hotel sits at the base of the tram to the park... Just a perfect location. Each morning, we thoroughly enjoyed the continental breakfast... The staff always greeted us when we came in and were always very helpful. The rooms were perfect and very can. We will plan to stay here again.
