Ironbridge Golf Club

Attraction details
Owner description: Known as one of the most scenic courses in Colorado, Ironbridge Club is the only 18-hole golf course in Glenwood Springs that is open to public play. Originally designed by Arthur Hills, the course was refined by Tom Lehman in 2014 and its 7,224 yards include a 495-foot gain in elevation from the pro shop to the tee on #12. More than just a day of golf, Ironbridge provides an invigorating adventure! The Ironbridge Grill offers casual, yet elevated, American fare. Even if you’re not a golfer, come enjoy lunch, dinner or cocktails on the covered patio or deck overlooking the driving range.

...front nine is pretty traditional, then plan on a drastic change of mountain canyons and elevation changes that startle your senses. Not really a walking course, the slopes are extreme and push the ability of the buggies. I would have given it 5 stars if the grounds crews understood golf etiquette. On a couple of holes during our approach they just kept mowing on and around the greens and fairways. It's a tough enough course without that type of distraction.
Otherwise the marshal was very helpful and tried to keep pace of play moving along. The pro shop staff was awesome, right on top of helping in and out.
The condition was really nice. Greens will kept and rough thick but nicely maintained. A definite must play as it really offers some beautiful views and is a treat.

Thank you so much for taking time to review Ironbridge! We've already spoken with our grounds crew based on your comments. It can be confusing for them, as some golfers ask them to stop and others tell them to keep going. Regardless, they should be doing all they can to not disrupt play, while still maintaining those well-kept greens you mentioned!

Thanks again for reminding us of the need to continue training our staff.

Ironbridge is a nice golf course with 4 beautiful holes up on top of the mountain. The rest of the holes weave thru a real estate development that is about to be built out. This was a really good place to play when the daily rate for guests was $65 but the new owner has raised the guest rate to $129 per round which puts the cost $20 higher than RVR which is up the road in Carbondale and a much more preferred course to valley residents.

Special rates are offered to Colorado residents with a Colorado drivers license, but note to those who cannot provide a Colorado drivers license. Discrimination to those who live in the area most of the year but choose to keep their "back home" license?

The food service area is just adequate compared to RVR, River Valley Ranch, and the menu is limited. Be sure to ask for a napkin if you order a to go sandwich at the turn as none comes in the box.

Use one more club as the on course markers tend to suggest a closer distance than rangefinders show.

Clarence, thank you for taking the time to review Ironbridge. We're sorry that you felt the $129 daily rate wasn't a good value. Our pricing is a direct reflection of the amenities and services offered here that simply aren't available at neighboring courses, in addition to the pristine condition we strive to keep our course in.

Our local discount was created to thank the golfers that live in the Valley year-round, as it is a very expensive place to live and work and we felt it was the least we could do to thank local residents for their continued support and hard work throughout the year.

Throughout the season, we often offer specials and promotions to visitors to the Valley, so please keep in touch with us on social media to take advantage of a discount during your next visit to Glenwood Springs.

We played on Saturday Oct.1 when the course donated half the greens fees to "Homes for Heros" to build a lady vet a house on a donated lot in the development. That made us feel good. The $99 fee included a cart, free driving range balls and excellent putting practice green. The course is fair but difficult for a 20 handicap like me. The greens were very fast. There is nothing like the four holes up the canyon that are really scary high elevated tees and big drop offs. It was a great day

David,
Thank you so much for coming out for the Homes for Heroes fundraiser! We were so amazed and delighted by the generosity of the community that came to support Sgt. Ennis and are looking forward to seeing her home here at Ironbridge get built.

We hope you'll join us again!

This course is super fun to play and has four of the most scenic holes that start the back nine. The driving range has all the balls you can hit as far as you can hit them. There is plenty of sand, water and tall grass to give a golfer all the challenge he or she may want. The drive up the mountain to start the back nine is amazing in itself.

LOVE Ironbridge Golf Club!! Played 2 rounds here in early July, the course was in terrific shape (as usual!) The driving range is probably the best in the area, balls are included with your greens fee. This is a CART only course, well, at least the Back 9! The views on 10 - 13 are the BEST in the area...you will not be disappointed! The staff is friendly and helpful, the lunch from the Grill was tasty and ready for us when we made the turn. (Called from Hole 8 as suggested). We're looking forward to many more rounds ahead when we retire to Glenwood Springs!
