I stayed in the inn during the off season. It was quiet, homey, and comfortable.. The breakfast was very good, and I found the staff to be friendly and hospitable. It was so nice to be NEAR Glenwood Springs and the great hot springs pool, but far enough from town to really enjoy the stunning CO scenery and peace. I would absolutely go back.

Overall this Inn has the potentiel to be a great place--the location is beautiful, the food excellent and the Skiing was fantastic--a great family vacation. We were extremely unimpressed however with the manager/innkeeper running the place. The young waman in charge barely spoke to guests and seemed to entertain more personal friends than guests at the hotel. She seemed annoyed when asked anything. I overheard her complain numerous times about her job and made several complaints about the company she worked for--apparently they make her work too much. This was surprising to us as we felt service was lacking in many respects-- there was rarely any management around to ask questions, the hot tub was not working properly yet no one seemed to know how to fix it, or care that it was broken. Also, the bar seemed to have no fixed hours--we were told they were closing as business was slow--apparently our presence was not enough to merit paying the bartender. It was like staying in an abandoned Inn and we felt like we were pretty much on our own. The kitchen staff was very friendly and the food was great--We would return again but hope the manager who does not like her job moves on before we return...

We were making a whirlwind trip to and from Denver from Utah. As we were searching the web for reasonably priced accomodations to spend the night we happened upon Sunlight Inn's web site. Not only are their rates very reasonable, the accomodations were more than what we could have ever expected. The drive to the inn is approximately 10 miles outside of Glenwood Springs and loaded with beautiful scenery and wildlife. Walking into the Sunlight Inn is like going home to be with your family on Thanksgiving or Christmas. The immensely, comfortable atmosphere was intensified by the warm, friendly greeting we received from Charlotte. The Inn is located at the base of Sunlight Mountain Ski Resort. Our room looked out onto slopes that were being groomed for the ski resort's annual opening this week. Unfortunately, we were only able to stay one night, but in 12 hours, we felt as if we'd left all the stress and strife of everyday life in a world far, far away. On the morning of our departure, Charlotte presented us with a gourmet breakfast she made herself that included scrambled eggs, bacon, hashbrowns, OJ, and warm from the oven, homemade cinnimon rolls. As we were leaving, our only wish was to someday have to opportunity to make an attempt at becoming bored while staying at Sunlight Inn. Charlotte assured us that it would never happen. We believe her. Sunlight Inn receives the highest of recommendations from these travelers

We just spent a great weekend at Sunlight Mountain Inn, at the foot of
Sunlight Mountain Ski Resort. It was fun! Our room was very affordable.
The decor was comfortable and quaint. Breakfasts (included) were huge
and delicious and full of good, home-cooking and fabulous coffee. This
B&B also served rather good meals and snacks in the downstairs bar,
where we took in football and beer specials. The ski area was very
enjoyable--uncrowded, great views, unpretentious, and only a short walk
from the inn. After a day on the slopes, it's nice to slip into the hot
tub and relax while watching the last skiers of the day continuing
their descents. A wonderful weekend!
