“Very relaxing and peacefull place to stay.”
Reviewed 22 December 2010

We stayed here for just a nice three day weekend to relax and unwind in the mountains while hitting the hot springs in town. The lodge was very clean and checking in was very easy and I love seeing the little dogs that they had. We stayed in one of the double queen rooms (OMG a real key, no card) and we both enjoyed the unique design and the way that it was decorated to match the rustic feel and look of our mountain setting. Our room was strait across from the Sunlight ski lift and I really enjoyed waking up in the morning and seeing people lining up waiting for the lift to start and it brought back very fond memories of when I was kid waiting at the bottom of Winterpark for the lifts to start.
The breakfast was free and very good. We didn’t get a chance to watch the TV upstairs but it is a great place for kids to stretch out and watch some cartoons. There was a wedding the Saturday night we stayed and we never heard them and I guess they didn’t hear us so that was nice. I did like that the owners were dressed up for the wedding and politely ignored the guy in shorts, flip-flops, and Mohawk returning from 3 hours at the hot springs and a wonderful dinner at Tequila’s.

The rooms were clean, the beds were great for us, the food was very nice, and it was out of town and quiet so I have no illusions that we will be retuning in the spring for the horseback riding and more solitude.

The Sunlight Mountain Inn is a relaxed, cozy B&B in a beautiful setting! It's not super fancy and has a great family atmosphere with a play area for kids and a laid back style. The breakfasts were great, the hosts were friendly, and the rooms were clean. We really liked it because it was tucked away in a beautiful valley filled with gold aspen trees and was very quiet and peaceful. The only thing that could use improvement was that the bed in our room was a little worn out and made my back ache. But other than that it was great! We will definitely stay at the Sunlight Mountain Inn again when we are in Glenwood Springs.

This is the best spot to stay if your going to ski Sunlight Mountain. It is right at the bottom, which means just a small walk to catch the lifts! The Romance Suite had a fire place that made the stay so cozy! The inn keeper, gretchenn, was very sweet and made the most filling breakfast every morning. The bartender, Lex, was awesome and helped with every question we had about the area. I would stay there again in a heart beat!

We spent two nights at the Sunlight Mountain Inn for our anniversary. It was a wonderful place! Gretchen and Pierre were very hospitable hosts and the inn was so cozy. The flies are bad in the Fall, but they didn't bother us much - just hung out by the windows. The breakfasts were delicious, with a wide range of choices each morning. Although it is 9 miles from town, the drive is beautiful and doesn't seem to take much time at all.

We've been visiting the Sunlight Mountain Inn annually for over 12 years. We absolutely love it! It's home away from home for us. The Inn is family friendly and economically friendly. Plus, the breakfasts are amazing!! Each year we have brought friends and family with us. Now, they too visit every year. It's become our tradition with our family and friends to meet at the Inn and vacation together. Such a wonderful Inn and delightful Inn keeper. We look forward to February 2011.

We have been returning to this Inn for 5 years now..We have found the inn to be very charming, in a beautiful setting and very convenient to the Ski facility. Gretchen and Pierre are wonderful hosts and we most enjoy the fresh baked cookies upon our arrival! The breakfast is fantastic with lots to choose from. I would totally recommend this B&B to anyone and everyone. My only small complaint is some of the beds do need to be replaced due to springs being very prominent.. But I love this place and it wouldn't keep us from returning every year!

My husband wanted to suprise me with a trip for my birthday. When we first got in to Glenwood and made it thru the town and crossed the river and realized we had another 9 miles til we got to the Inn we could not believe it. Not even half way up the mountain all we could think about was the future drives up and down the 9 miles to get in and out of town. When we got to the Inn they gave us a tour showed us our room. We had the honey moon room and I think it was great. I believe it's the only one with a fire place, and even in July it got cold enough to use it. Only one problem with the room, no stand up shower. Oh well. The room was also in the best location. It was right next to the hot tub and parking. There was also a little path right by (we never had time to check walk it) that crossed a creek and we were told went straight to the chair lift of the ski resort behind us. We stayed 3 nights, but were up and gone each day for other planned activities. I loved this Inn and my husband and I are trying to plan another trip back up this winter. I don't want to leave the Inn this time around. What else do you need where there is a hidden ski resort right behind you. There seemes to be so much to explore around the Inn and breakfast was awsome as well. If your planning a weekend get away or vacation in Glenwood this is the place to stay.
