“Home away from home but better”
Reviewed 29 November 2011

The Hotel Denver feels like home because it is so comfortable but better because I don't have beautiful antiques, lovely quilts, great food , really great beer and a friendly "hello" every morning at home! We visit often--- just got back this weekend. Of course there is a lot to do in Glenwood Springs but we can be content just hanging around the hotel.

Stayed at the Hotel Denver for a third consecutive Thanksgiving, arriving by train each time. The location is outstanding with the Amtrak station right across the street and an easy walk across the footbridge to the Hot Springs Pool. The front desk will provide towels for the pool. The brew pub is great and there are plenty of other restaurants within easy walking distance.

Room Tip: We really like the Colorado Rooms....well worth the extra cost over the Standard Rooms. One note of...

Staff: awesome--helpful, generous, and friendly
Location: great---in the heart of downtown, and even better for me: across from the amtrak station
Rooms: cute, charming, and unique. also, clean!!!
Bonus: attached is a really neat restaurant and bar which is called a brewpub; they brew their own beers on location.

My daughter and I came out to Glenwood Springs the last weekend in October. The hotel staff was welcoming and full of local information. The room had a view of the train station with the mountains rising in the background. Two queen beds and 2 bathrooms (it had orriginally been two small rooms). After a strenous hike up to Hanging Lake it was so nice to come back, be handed robes and towels and walk across the street to enjoy the Hot Springs. Back at the room, we could enjoy the satellite tv and WIFI. And dinner choices were all a block away. It was a wonderful outing from Denver.

Room Tip: Colorado room was very spacious.

We stayed 2 nights and travelled by train from Denver. The hotel is right across the street from the station and we booked in a speciality suite with a roof terrace (it even had a tot tub)

The hotel is great and the decor is brilliant, rocking chairs and really old dressers in the hallways:). Don't worry though the rooms are clean and very nicely furnished, we even had a four poster bed wonderful!! All mod cons included free wireless internet, fridge and a microve. there were 2 x flat screen TV's with cable if you wanted it. The bed was really comfortable and has hand made quilts very charming.

The hotel was great and we would recommend it it to anyone that can recognise class, it has a wonderful old world library in the lobby with books to swap and read!

We are in Clorado from the UK for 2 weeks and decided to take the train to Glenwood Springs and hit gold. The train journey was amazing with Deer, wild horses, buffalo, loads of coyote and eagles along the trip. With mountain scenery that takes your breath away this trip is well worth the effort.

Best place for breakfast is the "daily bread" cafe which serves all the coffee or tea you can drink included! There's plenty of places to eat, Riviera, Pullmans, Juicy Lucy Steak house and a lovely little Italian round the corner on the next block called Peppo Nino, its round the corner from the Riviera and serves up great fresh food
We had a great stay and the tram ride up the mountain is worth a go for the pics alone.

Room Tip: Speciality Suites are very good with a roof terrace and hot tub, the colorado rooms are larger than...

We booked here on a whim, looking to break up our long drive between Moab and Denver, and ended up in this great place. The rooms were unique and cozy with pretty quilts, and fast WiFi was everywhere. All the staff we met were wonderful, but Roxie at the front desk was especially helpful and had excellent recommendations for area attractions/hikes and restaurants in the area. We wished we could have stayed longer!

The Hotel Denver continues to renovate rooms and update service. This visit I loved having an outstanding WI FI signal, fast internet, easy, and uninterrupted. As an older traveler I appreciate all of the attention to detail. Unique rooms furnished with vintage pieces and the best mattresses and bedding!!!!

Room Tip: Call and let the staff know what you are looking for and they will do back flips to make it happen...
