Great stay, we love the hotel Denver, great location and great customer service. Clean rooms and helpful staff. Short walk to the hot springs that was part of our package. The Brew Pub downstairs is also very fun.

I stayed one night at the Hotel Denver and have no complaints. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean. The age of the building is evident, but does not detract from its appeal, at least not to me. The room was comfortable with older furniture to match the hotel, which could be good or bad depending on your expectations. The desk in my room was quire wobbly but still provided a reasonable work station. The bathroom is very small, but again, that's not where I spend most of my time when out of town so it was sufficient. The bed was comfortable. I could hear road noise but it wasn't overwhelming, and I could hear the neighbors talking but not well enough to understand what they were saying. Overall the place provided a place to stay in a piece of history in Glenwood Springs. I will not hesitate to stay here again next time I come through.

I don't mind staying in a pet friendly hotel, but staying next to a room with 2 barking dogs is too much.
First night there, the dogs barked and whined for 5+ minutes. After a call to the front desk they were quiet for a while, then it started again. Woke us up 2 more times. Finally got back to sleep only to wake up in the morning to barking dogs again. We complained to the front desk on our way to breakfast and they were kind enough to move us to another room, (one girl in particular was very considerate and understanding, sorry I didn't get her name). When we got back from breakfast to change to a different room, the picture that was hanging on the common wall was on the floor broken. Can't prove how it happened, but we suspected the guests with the dogs pounded on the wall so hard they knocked it off the wall.
The move was a free upgrade, but one night of our weekend wasted. Management should decide if they want to run a kennel or a Hotel. Why weren't the dog owners removed from the hotel?

My husband and I go to Glenwood Springs about once a year to treat ourselves, and have previously stayed at other hotels in the area. I have known of The Hotel Denver for a while, as it is located central to downtown and right across from the train station. After hearing rave reviews from a coworker of mine, we decided to look into staying at a new place. We were planning on bringing our six month old golden retriever, and the pet deposit for where we normally stay in town was crazy! Once we saw the Hotel Denver was pet friendly with NO pet deposit, we were sold. I booked an interior room that faces into their large lobby. The lobby is clean, well lit, and has an outdoor patio/courtyard feel with dark wood and antique accents. From the pictures on the website I was not expecting much, but the interior was BEAUTIFUL. When we arrived however, we were upgraded to a room with an exterior view of the mountains and the river (room 305). It had two queen beds, rather than one (which we had booked) but the room was bigger and we had no issue with the extra space, or the view of town. The room was recently redone with refinished wood floors, big screen tv, Kurig in the room, and antique accents and furniture. Very charming and very clean. I cannot say enough good things about this hotel. The staff was the most helpful and friendliest of any hotel I have ever stayed at, and it set the scene for the whole stay. It is a block from the shops and restaurants downtown, and walking distance of the hot springs. Free parking, great bar attached, and across the street from our favorite eatery, The Pullman. The hotel also offers breakfast bars, apples, bottled water, and coffee in the lobby every morning. Free internet, and a library space for work.

Room Tip: Rooms facing the train station may have some noise pollution

Great staff, quiet, well-appointed rooms, convenient location!

We got engaged in Glenwood Springs 28 years ago and have returned once or twice a year since. This is my favorite hotel in Glenwood; it's got history, comfort, nice decor, and responsive staff. It also now has a brewery with good bar food housed in the same building. I asked for a quiet room for a recent milestone birthday, and they gave us a corner room - perfect. The decor comprises wonderful antiques with bare wooden floors. It's older construction, so the heating fan was noisy, bothering my husband, but not me. The room was spacious with two sleep-worthy queen beds, flat screen TV, two desks, a sofa and coffee table, plenty of storage room, small dining table, Keurig coffee maker, a microwave and fridge. The bathroom had two separate sinks, mirrors, and a tub; lovely tiling.

The hotel is right across the street from the train station, and is a perfect place to stay for someone traveling by rail. A block away is the footbridge across the Colorado River, paralleling the street bridge, providing easy access to the main attraction of Glenwood, the Glenwood Springs' thermal pool, now known as the Glenwood Springs Spa of the Rockies. We went there twice during our three-day stay, purchasing discounted tickets from the Hotel desk. They also provided us with large, plush bath towels - which one must otherwise rent at the pool. The hotel is within a block or two of the more popular restaurants in town, as well as unique shops.

The in-room coffee is great, but you can also go downstairs mornings to a sideboard with coffee, tea, apples, granola bars, and biscotti.

Need advice, directions, or have room questions? There is no better staff to help you out, and they are always warm and friendly.

For a unique boutique: stop by the Mona Lisa on the ground floor.

We were especially impressed with Roxy at the front desk. She was very helpful, welcoming and friendly. She really takes an interest in her guests and their comfort. She very much added to our enjoyment while we were there. The rooms were pleasant and unique, with exposed brick walls, antiques and nice views. We will certainly return.

Stayed here with a friend who traveled all the way from Japan to experience the best of Colorado -- we toured the whole state in ten days, and the best move was starting off with a couple nights at the Hotel Denver, in a top-floor room with lovely valley view.
It was my second stay here, and I must say I like the tasteful way they've done their updating while preserving and continuing the rich and interesting history -- and the talk of ghosts is positively thrilling, because...well, you'll see -- I mean, hear... Seriously, I am not joking...
The staff is wonderful, helpful, friendly, and fabulous, and with the Hot Springs an invigorating walk across the river bridge, great dining options everywhere nearby -- including the BrewPub and Restaurant connected to the hotel on the first floor, there's simply no way to go wrong here!

Room Tip: Top floor old corner room if you want to and can handle the idea that some energy may live on past b...
